DH put the Jumparoo together and we have the strap on Level 1. It is so high off the ground! We put Claire in it and her feet are about 3-4 inches off the ground. Jeez she will be walking before she will touch the floor! We put a pillow underneath her and that helped, but I think that she is still a tad small for it. Carlie might do better, cause she is taller, has longer arms, and likes to stand up....when she gets up we will try her.

I put it below level 1 in the slot that is not marked. To this day we are still there. We started at about 3 months and put books under it so they still had a hard jumping surface. Thomas is a hard core jumper and Elizabeth just stands in it like it is a saucer.

I think we started using ours around 4.5 or 5 months. There is actually a hole that doesn't have a number on it that will make it lower than the 1st height. That's what we had it set at for the first month becuase they were too short. Now I'm sure that the instructions don't tell you that but we never had any problems with it set like that. As long as they have good head and upper body strength they will love it. It does take a couple tries for them to figure out how to jump in it.

We started at 3 months on the hole below the one also with a tiny ironing board (looks like a surfboard) and a boppy on top of that. Then we stuffed blankets all around them to help them sit up. Our bigger one we can take the boppy off now and she looks like she is surfing.

We got ours a little later. Maybe around 6 months. For Jake we needed it on level 1, but Hailey on the level lower than that ... At this point, they are on the highest setting (both of them). They LOVE the jumper! Takes a bit for them to learn how to jump though ...

I have not personally read the literature, but my sister is a pediatric radiologist and she has read it and says that there is clear data that says that jumparoos put too much pressure on the hip joints and can cause walking delays and other significant problems. I know lots of people use them and I'm sure my girls would love them but given that info I am not comfortable using them.

This is controversial, I am sure, as many people have heard the same from their pedis and stil use them w/no problem, I'm simply offering the info.

I have heard that they are not great for walking also. That said...I don't think we are going to be leaving the children in there for extended periods of time. We all need a 10 minute break here and there...I think there are some people who might leave them in there for a long time and that's where the problem arises.
