My little girl can now roll one way. From her back to her belly.. she can not roll from belly to back. When I laid her down for her nap she rolled immediately to her tummy and her face in pushed into the mattress to sleep. I tried to turn her to her cheek but she cries...
    What should I Do..
    Worried mama.
I know when they roll I should not worry but her face straight in to the mattress is what has me worried.

Both my girls roll right to their tummies for naps/bedtime. They have excellent head control so I dont' worry. If they can roll there, then they can turn their heads. That's what I think anywyas.

Try not to worry (yeah right!!) too much.

Oh, and my girls became such good sleepers once they coudl sleep on their tummies!!

My DD did they same thing and I just left her on her belly. Like the pp said if they have good head control I would try not to worry too much!

It's one of the first incidences of parenting where you just have to give in and let your child do what your child is gonna do! Really, there is nothing you can do about it. If your child is strong enough to roll, she's strong enough to move her head if she can't breathe. Once they take to sleeping on their tummy, there's no getting them to sleep on their back.

I would just make sure her bedding isn't to cushiony(no blankets), and let her sleep on her belly! :hug99:

I have been having the same concern! My son rolls to his belly as soon as we lay him down! He started rolling to his side when he was just a couple weeks old... he has just never liked sleeping on his back! Even though we keep rollin' him back to it! I just don't let him have a blanket or any sort of pillow.

As long as they can move their heads. My little girls already gets mad a rolls herself over so I don't worry about her sleeping on her belly.

I agree. Make sure her mattress is firm and that there are so soft toys or blankies to get in her way. It's stressful but the incidence of SIDS goes way way down once the child can roll.

Marlee loves to sleep face down also, she never has had a problem except maybe a red forehead when she wakes up!

Agree with pp. At that point, you can try to position all you want, but they are going to move around when you walk away.

Sounds like even if you put her on her back she will roll, so just leave her on her tummy and check on her if it makes you feel better. Both of mine were tummy sleepers from 6 months on.
