Is there something I can take for sinus drainage/congestion during pg? It's causing me to cough which is keeping me from sleeping at all. Thanks!

I believe Sudafed is okay, just plain sudafed (no letters after it, it is behind the counter at the pharmacy now) someone correct me if I'm wrong though. I am pretty sure I took that when I was pregnant. Hope you feel better!

sudafed is okay...you can call the local hospital and talk to a nurse to confirm, but thats what my ob's nurse said to take :) hope you feel better soon!

It's not medicine, but have you tried using a humidifier in your room? That's helped me a lot, especially trying to sleep at night!

Also, a saline solution (I think one is called Ocean) might help, and it's not medication so it should be okay...

If allergies are causing the problem, my dr.'s office okays regular Claritin or its generic form.

My pg girlfriend (32 weeks) is sick right now and the dr told her tylenol and plain robitussin with no letters after it. She is also on an anitbiotic.
    Feel better!

Plain sudafed (the stuff behind the counter these days) is the stuff you need! I lived off of that stuff during my first pregnancy. I have some on hand now, but haven't needed it yet.

What about Benedryl? I have horrible allergies now that I'm pregnant and the doctor told me to take a benedryl every night before bed. It clears me up and helps me to sleep.

My Doc said most anything over the counter taken 'as directed' would be fine!!

I was told I could take the original sudafed (behind the pharmacy counter, red/white box), benadryl or afrin original nasal spray. I took sudafed during the day and benadryl at night. A nice side effect of Benedryl is it helped with my nightly itchiness.
