So I am 11 weeks along, and not showing at all, babies are all healthy and stuff. I am way uncomfortable, I feel incredably bloated, and if I lay on my tummy I feel like I am pushing something in. Granted I also don't have a flat belly, but I am not overweight. I've lost a total of 3 pounds durning the first trimester. And I am on bedrest until the end of my first minium. When I had my u/s on Monday, she said my uterus has gotten really big, so would all this uncomfortablness that I feel just be me growing more, and going to start showing soon? I also can not get comfortable enough to sleep anymore, so I just kind of take the sleep when I can and try not to worry. Even when I would PMS, I would never feel bloated like this. That is the best way for me to describe it I suppose, can't say I really have ever suffered from bloating, none that ever bothered me or made my pants tight. I wear all of my pants big, expecally since I don't want to wear maternity pants. But haven't really worn anything except shorts with elastic band and tee shirts since I'm on strick bedrest. So I guess I am just wondering if what I am feeling is just my uterus growing I suppose, and I know you can't technically feel it growing, but getting bigger I suppose. Over all I am just flat out uncomfortable. And I know as my tummy grows and all, then I will really be uncomfortable, but it is driving me insane.

Also and I am sorry if this is TMI but I NEVER have had this problem. When I first got pregnant (IVF) over the next 5 weeks I went up another bra size. I was at a 38DD, but am wearing a 40 DD because I didn't want to go up to an F, which is what the lady at the store told me. (OK So I am in denial about that) So anyways someone had told me once that she wore a bra through her whole pregnancy and didn't get any bigger. So was kind of hoping that would work. The last few days my boobs have stopped hurting so I stopped wearing a bra all the time. (Was even wearing to bed to sleep) So but about a week ago my husband noticed that my areolas were getting bigger. No big deal, but one day I noticed they were chapped. Dry skin, or dead skin what ever, so I put lotion on, and haven't seen it since, well since today. Would this just be because of the pregnancy? I have just never had a problem like that before, and I don't want to call my mom and sound like an idiot, (she thinks I do everything wrong, even though I am on bedrest) so I figured I could ask here, and hopefully not get judged for my questions.

Thank you in advance for any advise.

I think you might not feel so uncomfortable when you start showing. I always was uncomfortable before then because I just felt fat. After I'd start showing it was almost like it was ok to be this big. Don't know if that makes sense or not. Also you should wear maternity pants if they are more comfortable on you. I can only wear maternity pants or pajama pants anymore.

I wear a bra all the time, even to bed because my boobs have gone from a size 36c to a 38ddd and if I don't wear one, my back hurts so bad that I can hardly stand it. The only time I don't have one on is in the shower. And they just went up a little more in the last week. It would be nice to be able to enjoy the growth if they didn't hurt so bad. hehe

Just curious if you had OHSS from your IVF? That would definitely feel why you feel bloated, but I would think it would be better by 11 weeks.

Congrats on your twins. It is pretty awkward before you start showing, but you should start showing soon. I was showing at that point, but it was my second pregnancy.

No, didn't have any OHSS. My ovaries are still a little swollen, but they said that is now because of the pregnancy.

I didn't find out I was having twins until 12 weeks and the week before at 11 weeks I remember telling everyone how I was experiencing the strangest sensation as if I could feel my uterus literally growing. I also wasn't showing but it was the weirdest feeling. Then I found out I was having twins and everyone said I probably was feeling the stretching/growth of my uterus. But I totally know exactly how you feel. Mine didn't feel like bloating though but exactly like it was getting bigger. Hard to explain unless you felt it yourself. Hope you feel better soon.

I totally understand what you are saying! I was uncomfortable when I was about 11 -12 weeks. I remember feeling like I was bloated. It was as if I was on my period, and couldn't get rid of the water retention. My uterus felt like it was expanding, (cause it was.. LOL)I started showing early, but this is also not my first pg. My boss even told me she thought that I was having twins, because I was showing at 9 weeks. (We thought I was 13 or 14!) That is the time I found out I was having the twins, so that is probably it.

As for a bra, try a sports bra. My breasts would hurt so bad that I would actually cry if anything touched them in the slightest way. Once I went down and bought one, it gave me much better support and I haven't had any issues since. I am large anyway, I have no idea what size I am anymore... I am afraid to find out! I was a 44 DD, and YIKES... like I said, don't want to know until I have to. So far the sports bra is working and that is good enough for me! I hope you feel better soon.

One of the first signs that I was pregnant was that my boobs got really big. I went out and bought two new bras. It is also normal for them to get really dry. I usually don't have this problem either, but they get really dry and itchy. Just keep putting lotion on them, I use the same stuff I put on my belly for itching and to prevent stretch marks. As far as the bloating goes, that is normal too. You will notice the slight changes in your body as the hormones increase. I had to buy maternity clothes around 12 weeks because I wasn't going to buy another size of regular clothes when I would need maternity anyway. It is easier to get rid of maternity clothes later also. I would also recommend you don't sleep on your stomach, my OB told me this was not good. If you are uncomfortable at night you could try sleeping with a pillow between your knees, this helps sometimes, or use a body pillow. Hope you feel better soon.

I swear I thought I was the only one with the itchy, dry nipples. None of my friends have had this. I have found using the stretch mark cream is the best. Regular lotion doesn't help at all.

Your uterus is growing like crazy. It is totally normal to feel really bloated or like there is something there. I remember when I started feeling like I couldn't sleep on my stomach. I think I was still in the 1st trimester. It's so hard for me to sleep on my side, but you will get used to it.

I was really uncomfortable at first - I couldn't understand why I couldn't sleep on my front and I used to feel full all the time - I did resolve for a time in the middle!

A lot of people I know who did IVF or IUI (myself included) had pains in the ovaries during the first tri. I had 2 LARGE cysts. By 8 weeks I was wearing a belly band on my normal clothes because I was growing out of them. By about 14 weeks I was in maternity clothes. Oh, I also did have some pains that I think were my uterus growing!

I did not have problems w/ my nipples until I entered the 3rd trimester. Then they were getting dry, and started cracking :( Now I use Lansinoh twice a day and it is SO MUCH better!!!

You might as well get used to sleeping sitting up. It only gets tougher to get comfortable. I remember my breasts hurt so bad that I wanted to scream. Either petroleum jelly or stretch mark cream helps.
