J&H can stay awake for an hour, hour and 10 mins max. At what age do they stretch that out? I know "be careful what you ask for" but it seems that by the time they take a bottle, sit up for 10 mins to digest, they are fussing to go back to sleep. Also, when do they wake up, awake? Right now, they wake up and they are crying, usually with their eyes closed so it seems like they are still asleep when they wake up. When do they wake up alert?

It seems I've forgotten what it is like to have a newborn so I am sorry if the questions are repetitive/inane.

We did 90 minutes awake/90 minutes sleeping for the first couple of months. I think around 2 or 3 months is when they really "wake up" a little more during the day.

My girls slept pretty much ALL the time until about 2 1/2 months, and then they started sleeping through the night, and being awake for 4 hours, a 3 hour nap, and then awake until bed time. Now sometimes I wish they would just go back to sleep.. :p lol. Good luck!

The last couple of months i have really been able to stretch them out to 2/3hours befiore that 1.5hrs was a push.

For the longest time mine could only do 1.5 hours. Now they do 1.5 - 2 hours before the first nap and 2 - 2 1/2 hours before the 2nd and 3rd naps.

I agree, for us it was between 2 & 3 months when they finally started being awake & more alert.

Same here, around 3 months they were able to stay awake for longer periods!

Thanks, I was beginning to wonder if they were broken :) My first never slept so these two are weird to me.

I agree between 2-3 months is when they will be awake and alert more but I am still putting mine to sleep every 2-2.5hrs they just cant seem to handle much more than that right now.
