questions to ask the peri

I am going to see a peri on Thurday, this will be the first time ever I have seen one and I would like to be prepared and know what to ask or what to look for.

 

Good luck at your appt. I didn't have any specific questions for the peri, I just asked anything on my mind. I felt more comfortable with them as I felt like they did a more detailed u/s of things and this was what they were experienced in, high risk/multiple pregnancies. I liked that they did a growth u/s at every visit!

 

Not sure what to ask the peri. I guess any concerns that you have (particularly if you are having any complications). My peri basically just does the growth ultrasounds every few weeks and doesn't do much with the rest of my pregnancy. I primarily talk to my OB about things.

 

Yeah, my first peri visit was very thorough as they had done the full growth scan, looked at placentas, etc. So I just thought of ?s as they came up. Wish I had more advice, I guess one idea would be to take notes! It's often a lot of info. And be sure to get pics

 

I think for the first one I just absorbed all the info that I was given and then as I went back each month I had different things I brought up. But mostly I was just interested in their growth and anatomy. I asked my OB most of the questions about the pregnancy. But my Peri was very thorough and would ask me lots of questions and always told me if I thought I was having more than 6 contractions an hour to come to L and D as soon as possible because there are lots of things they can do to stop labor when you are 2-3 cm and there arent so many things to do when you are further. So I always kept this near and dear. So you may want to ask him or her what his qualifications are for that??
