Hello everyone! My name is Amy and I'm 37 years old, will be 38 when my twins arrive. I have a 20 yr old DSS, a 12 yr old DS and a 4 yr old DS.

We found out on Sept. 13th that we were expecting twins after 6 months working with an FE. I haven't seen my OB since before our u/s so this will be my first appt with him since we found out. I was wondering if there are any specific questions I should be asking him? I would appreciate any input!

I look forward to getting to know you all!!

I am drawing a total blank but I would start with asking if you will be seeing a perinatologist. If not how much experience does your ob have with following twin pregnancies? How often will you be having u/s and what your appointment schedule will likely be and by that I mean at what point will they start seeing you every two weeks and every week. I would also get a number of who you can call when you have a question or concern about how you are feeling, you will have a lot! Nobody will be able to ease your mind like your doctor. If you are going to see a peri then there will be a whole bunch of other questions you would want to ask him once you have your next u/s. Congratulations on your twin pregnancy and :sign0016: to TS you will love this site, the ladies on here are wonderful!

Congratulations and welcome :sign0016: . I would mostly make sure that the OB you are seeing is treating this pregnancy different than a singleton pregnancy. There should be more monitoring and a doctor should be overall more cautious in a twin pregnancy. I'm so excited for you!!

I would ask questions about vaginal versus c/s delivery... if you know for sure you will have c/s for some reason, then it won't be as important. But if you've had vaginal births previously and would prefer that then you want to find out as soon as possible what kind of twins your docs are comfortable delivering vaginal. for instance...just vertex/vertex twins??... or vertex/breech twins...where baby A is vertex, but baby B is not... in that situation how comfortable are they doing breech extraction..or do they go for c/s if they can't get baby B to turn around after baby A is delivered. If vaginal delivery is important to you then you want to find a doc who ideally will allow a vertex/breech delivery and is confident and comfortable with breech extraction if necessary. Obviously no ob/gyn will guarantee a vaginal delivery since a ton of things can happen between now and then which would make c/s absolutely the best choice....but I'd rather start off with matching philosophies on this issue then feel bummed later on b/c my ob only allows vaginal under absolute ideal conditions... (which would be vertex/vertex with baby B being smaller than baby A...)

Given your age, you will most likely see a peri sometime in this pregnancy. My friend was 36 in her last pregnancy and saw the peri I saw for at least a few of her u/s.
