Can Someone tell me about this sleep training I keep hearing about on here I tried to google sleep training but it doesn't sound like what some of the ladies are talking about.

There are a few different types of sleep training.
I read (some of) Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child for our sleep training.

I'll be honest though, when I was where you are, we were on survival mode and didn't start sleep training until later.
My two slept in their swings until 3mths. But that's what worked.

Have you tried swaddles and white noise? Those two seemed to work wonders on my two.

I don't mean to sound stupid but what is white noise?

Just background kind of noise. You can actually buy white noise machines, but, with the twins I actually just turned the radio on static & it worked great for my them when they were really little. Now I use music, which works too, it just blocks out other noises in the house and is kind of monotonous which makes them sleepy. I used to have a tape when Olivia was little that was ocean waves and one that was a heartbeat and she liked both of those.

Usually any noise machine (like the kind you get to relax to) has the white noise sound, plus others. We started out with white noise, but it drives me nuts over the monitors, so we switched to a waterfall sound. Works great

This is the one I have.

I've even heard of some doing low noise with music. Haven't tried that myself though.

The only sleep training I am doing is basically sticking with a routine for bedtime and encouraging naps during the day at the same time. (if they are exhausted at the end of the day they have a much harder time settling at night). I find that they thrive on routine and are starting to get sleepy at the same times everyday and as they get bigger they eat more and stay asleep for longer periods of time. I have just let things take their natural course and it seems to work and they are happy. Somedays are harder than others but everyday seems to get easier and each night it takes less effort to get them to sleep and to stay asleep. I did have to move them to their own cribs at night because they move around and wake each other up.

If I click on your image it says that your twins are 10 weeks and your ticker that you just added says they are almost 6 weeks. Were they preemies and 6 weeks is their adjusted age?? If so, 6 weeks was a major adjustment period for all of us. There was lots of crying and sleeplessness and they wanted to eat all the time. I would say you are doing great by following their cues but most babies arent ready for too much sleep training like CIO until they are closer to 6 months IMO and that is depending on the circumstance. Congrats on your twins and welcome to the First Year.

I am counting down until they are 4 months when I can let them fuss without guilt… but I have noticed they are starting to follow a pattern in the last 5 days (but it could be a flook) they eat and sleep through to the next feeding at night at 8/9, 12, 3:50 then anything goes and we are back to every 2 hours… I just want predictability… because of this new schedule I was able to get my dh to let me go to bed at 6 (I know sad) and he stayed up till 12 and I got up at 3:30 to feed… that was 8 hours for me  … of course I naturally wake up every 2 hours from doing so the last 7 weeks (darn it)
I will wish us both sleepy nights

I read Healthy Sleep Habits Happy Child when the girls were about 3 or 4 months old. I started to track their wake/sleep patterns and notice their sleepy signs. Aside from that, we didn't do any sleep training with the girls. GL!
