Question for new moms

I was just wondering for those of you that went into labor on your own, did you have any sort of feeling before hand that you were about to go into labor or was it a complete surprise?

I'm 2 cm dilated and my mom thinks I'm going to have them this week, but I think I'm going to have a feeling when I'm going to go into labor and I Just don't feel like this is the week...

 

With the twins, no it was a complete surprise, that's why they were so early.

With my oldest DD, I was 3cm at 37 weeks and thought for sure I'd go anyday, but she didn't come for 4 more weeks!!! So know, still no idea. My water broke at 41w, very unexpectedly, contractions started after.

 

With the twins I was dilated to a 4 for a week, and every single day I thought, "today is the day!"...but after a week of that my ob finally just induced me!

This is pregnancy #5 for me (first time with twins) and I went into labor on my own with the first three. I was dilated too 3 for almost three weeks until I went into labor with all three. I also had BH (which the family calls "baby hugs", not braxton hicks) from my fourth month but they were not regular. At the end of the pregnancy the BH would start to form a pattern and I would think "this is it", but then they would taper off. Really I didn't know for sure until I could not talk through a contraction.

That is just my experience, yours may be completely different though! I do wish you good labor vibes though

I was just logging on to ask this very question.

I am still hoping to hold off labor for a while but my contractions are getting very strong but NOT quite patterned yet. They are anywhere from 10-20 min apart but very strong. It's been going on all night. I have an apt at 1pm hopefully he'll have some ideas to stop the contractions. I've tried water, lying down, eating, etc. Nothing is taking care of them.

 

i was dialated from 34 weeks on.. 1 then 3. i had a feeling at 34 weeks then they stopped labor... when they finally came at 38 weeks i didnt expect it because i had given up hope that i was going into labor by myself.. thanks full moon!!!
