Poor thing all her babies have there days and nights mixed up. Not to mention these are her first babies. She is so exhausted. My only advice was to try not swaddling them during the day but do it at night. My girls never had this problem. Do any of you have any advice for her? By the way her babies are only a month old.

Oh the poor thing - I can only imagine how tired she is! I would say try and institute a nighttime routine each night, even if it just means taking a wash cloth wiping each baby down, putting some lotion on them, and putting pjs on them, then trying to put them to bed. She is still in survival mode right now, so the babies might not get this routine right away, but eventually it will help signify bedtime. Also at night make sure "adults are no fun", no talking or playing with the babies, change them, feed them and back to bed - with the lights down low, and no distractions around. Also during the day try and expose them to sunlight when they are awake as much as possible.
Hopefully some of these help, I know others will have some good tips too.

I second what advice you (she) just got. My twins did that for a while, and that's what we did. So I can tell you that it does work. It's not much fun until it does, but it works. :hug99: for your cousin.

Will they sleep in a swing, or in the bed with her? Emma slept in her swing and Jake slept with me for the first 3 months because it was the only way they would go back to sleep after a feeding at night. Huge hugs to her!

How old are they? What I did to help my girls know it was day vs night was to keep them out in the noisey bright living area during the day. They napped in a pnp out in the main area of the house during the day (and then when they were a little older- 2 months- napped in the swing). Then at night they slept in our bedroom in the dark and night feedings were ALL business- diaper (in the dark), bottle, swaddle, bed. GL to your cousin!

This is pretty much what we did too. The babies will get it after not too long. Tell her to hang in there and that we're sending :hug99: .

    Can't even imagine.

The advice above is all good. Plus ear plugs?

Poor thing. I can't even imagine that. I know twins was enough for me to handle at one time. I hope everything gets better for her soon.

The video "Happiest baby on the block" -- it increases until 6 weeks corrected age then starts to taper off. It is just survival mode right now. Please take many many pictures of her right now with each baby and all together. I know it doesn't relate to your question but this crazy time will pass but if she doesn't have pictures she will not remember it. Video is great too !! It is the best thing you can do -- a professional photographer to the house ?? Perfect !!
