my LOs LOVED eating yogurt. LOVED being the key word. one of them hates it now but the other gobbles it up for a snack. what do you do when they eat different things? when the LO that does eat yogurt sees the other LO's snack, he wants that, in addition to his yogurt.
just not sure how to handle it.

I am not a short order cook.. so I give them a small variety of things and they are allowed to eat as much or as little as they want, but I don't just keep feeding them different things to fill up. And I don't monitor their sharing.. if one wants his brother's yogurt and brother isn't eating it, I'd probably let the other one have it. My kids trade food and feed each other all the time.

My rule is that I make one thing each of them will eat incorporated into the meal. This is getting harder because Jacob is eating nothing solid these days. For him, I will break down and feed him yogurt at the end of a meal. Henry also gets some but he is eating everything in sight right now. Most of our meals are protein, carb, vegetable so I know with those three things, each kid will eat 2 of them and I am ok. For snacks, I offer a cracker/carb and fruit. I haven't introduced cheese yet but when I do, I will add in cheese sticks for a protein for them.

My LOs are the same way. Colin still loves yogurt, but I'm lucky to get 2 bites of yogurt in Brandon. But I think Brandon's problem is a spoon aversion and not that he doesn't like yogurt anymore, because he behaves the same way with some other foods that we feed to them with a spoon that he recently loved. So we are trying to introduce utensils to them (at least during some meals, but not all), which is a slow and messy process. But to answer your question about what I do when the other LO sees his sibling eating something else, I throw some of the food on his tray too and continue to jab quick spoonfuls of yogurt into his mouth in between his bites of the other stuff :)

I never limit their snack to one thing. If I'm feeding one yogurt and not the other, then they still both get goldfish or banana, etc. That way, if I'm giving string cheese and fruit and one decides that this week they are boycotting cheese, then that one will just get fruit and the other will get his/her sibling's cheese. It eliminates waste and keeps me from being a short order cook.

This is exactly what I do. Nate loves yogurt, but Jack doesn't. So when I'm giving yogurt at snack, I also offer crackers and fruit (or a few other things) so they can fill up on what they want.

I also offer a couple of choices, but since we're on the go at snack time most of the time, I fill their snack traps with a few things, like cheerios chex mix, cereal and some pretzels, or some peanut butter cracker sandwiches and some honey nut cheerios. My kids love the quaker mini rice cakes with chocolate or caramel on them. And if they share their snacks and one eats all the rice cakes and one eats all the goldfish...oh well ;)

Mine have started doing that, I just give them what they want and a little bowl with crackers or fruit.

I usually give my kids crackers and some type of fruit. Sometimes they also get cheese. They usually like whatever we have for snacks.
