What's the difference between size 24 months and 2T? I thought 2T, 3T, 4T represented the age of the toddler, as in 2 year toddler, KWIM?

    TIA

Good question! I think someone said that 24 months is shorter and wider than 2T. 2T is longer.

I think it depends on the brand. Some brands actually overlap for height/weight for 24mos/2T (carters), but other seem longer for 2T (oshkosh). I think they are cut slimmer too in case 2T kids don't wear diapers anymore. Not a dumb question at all!

DH and I were wondering the same thing, we have some 2T clothes for DS that we were thinking of washing soon.

I was told at Carter's and another store (forget which) it's the difference of an inch and a pound based on the height/weight guidelines they have on the clothes. So...essentially not much!!

2T's don't have snaps and are a bit longer and slimmer than 24 month. It isn't because kids are out of diapers, but more because as they get more mobile, they tend to slim down.

I think Tricia posted on another thread that they're sizes from two different styles of clothing -- in other words, 24 months is going to be the largest size in a style of clothing made for babies, and 2T is going to be the smallest size in a style of clothing made for toddlers. The toddler clothes are less likely to have snaps at the crotch, etc.

There's probably no -- or very little -- difference in actual sizing, but it depends on the manufacturer. In general, I've found 24-month clothes to be shorter in length.
