So one of my LO's are just about ready for her first pair of shoes, she is basically walking full time, but still doing a bit of crawling. I will wait until she is fully walking to buy her a pair of shoes, but her sister doesnt seem to be interested at all in walking.

My question is do I let the walker just wear her Robeez for a few weeks longer to see if her sister begins to show interest in walking? Should I make a trip to the store and buy the non walker shoes? Should I just make 2 trips out of it? I know that the non walker is going to be jealous of the new shoes!

The walker is my tiny baby, so any good brand advice, for Tiny feet?

We used our Robeez until about 1 month ago, we switched to Pedipeds to try something different because the elastic on the top of the Robeez seemed to press hard across the tops of their feet. I do love the Pedipeds, they are soft but slightly more padded and have a Mary Jane style strap. I used shoes outside and occasionally inside and I always put them on both because they would have had a cow. I am not sure it would encourage walking any faster than when they are good and ready...lol. We have a harder soled shoe that we occasionally pull out but honestly, their feet are growing so fast, I think the soft ones are the best you can put on their little feet, and I know they feel most comfortable in them. Good luck.

I used Robbies for quite awhile - until they were wearing the toes out or they were too small. Then I switched to See-Kai-Run. They are another soft flexible shoe, but with a soft rubber sole that wears better outdoors. Enjoy the cute shoes! I would also just get shoes for both. My boys were about a month apart in walking.

I used a version of Robeez for while after both kids started walking and once they got better at it, I just started buying shoes from Target or Babies R Us.

I personally didn't use Robeez once they started walking. I figured they didn't serve a purpose inside they house, I just let mine go barefoot. If they were outside walking around (unless always on a dry, solid surface) they would get wet, step on rocks and sticks, etc... So, we went with Striderite's once they started walking. They only wore them when we were outside, otherwise I kept them barefoot. I know there's the debate of softsoled vs hardsoled - just offering my opinion on what we did. We were very happy with the striderites. They do have various stages also (for crawlers, new walkers, stable walkers, etc.). The crawlers have a thicker tip on the toe so it doesn't get worn out dragging across the ground.

Everyone told me to get the Stride Rite (hard soled, expensive brand) shoes once the twins start walking a little bit... it will help them pick it up faster. Well I did and spent $100 bucks on two pairs of shoes. The shoes were trashed after 2 weeks. Because they were still crawling some, the leather on the tops of the shoes got scraped up. We took them back to the store for ideas on how to fix them, but nothing could be done. That's $100 I wish I had back! After that, my boys only wore their mock crocs ($4.50 per pair) everywhere and have no trouble walking in them (still in the same pair now 6 months later). They are a heck of a lot easier to put on, too!

They do make some walking shoes with a rubberized toe that I wish I would have gotten instead... maybe that would have prevented the leather from getting ruined. Just something to keep in mind. (Wish I had ssb2e's advice 6 months ago)

I bought stride-rites for my first child 11 yrs ago and that was it. After her, every child born learned to walk barefoot and stayed that way inside and outside, they just wore shoes. Not special, not hard soled vs soft...just shoes from Payless. They had NO issues
