Question about sex (of the babies)

I have my level 2 u/s next Tuesday and while I at 17 weeks we were told certain that we were having one of each, my DH goes last night do you think that our little guy in there might be a girl? What I saw on that u/s screen back at 17 weeks, I saw a turtle sign 100% sure! LOL

Anyone else have the baby(ies) sex change later on or even at birth?

 

I think a girl is a girl and a boy is a boy from conception on. It has to do with chromosomes, and that is determined as soon as the sperm meets the egg.

I forget which it is ... i think it is that originally the genitals are on the outside and then they move inside for a girl, so sometimes they can say boy but if they call it too early, it can actually be a girl ...

but I may have that backwards ... it may be that they start inside and come out, so a girl can "turn into" a boy ... no help, am I?

I was told at 14 weeks that Baby A was a boy, and they couldn't tell on B ... at 17 weeks I was told A was a boy and B was a girl, and that's exactly what we had!!

 

We got a 'guess' of boy and maybe at 14 weeks...well from 16 weeks on we had 2 girls! I was a bit nervous until delivery that we would have to trade all the pink stuff for some blue and we even did the nursery in a greenish color 'in case' but afterthe first wrong guess they always said g/g.

Both boys and girls start out looking like a bump and a slit between their legs. In a boy the bump becomes the penis and the slit fuses to become the testicles. In a girl the bump becomes the clitoris and the slit becomes the vagina. I personally wouldn't trust an ultrasound taken before 18 wks., because it could be really hard to tell for sure, and you might be buying the wrong color of clothes.

 

I have heard that a swollen clitoris can look like a penis earlier on and crossed legs etc can make a boy look like a girl. From about 15 weeks we have been having two boys and they are very apparently boys at each ultrasound every 2 weeks. They still check even though my DH and I are confident with what we have seen ourselves. It seems to me with the gender change stories that I have heard it has mostly been boys mistaken for girls. One of my best friends was told that she was having a girl all throughout her pregnancy-mind you she had more than one u/s, but it was always her OB performing it. She named her and personalized things "Cameron Joy", made a girl nursery, and had a girl's baby shower. Not until one of her very last appts did she find out that she was having a boy!! She had already taken off all of the tags to the clothes etc and washed them!!

 

[SIZE=10pt]We were originally told, at approx 19 weeks, that we were having two lil girls. We went back 4 weeks later for our Echocardiogram U/S ~ and the tech told us we were in fact having a girl and boy :huh: We were shocked to say the least. We had already gone out and bought some matching girlie things. Needless to say, every time we had an U/S after that we made sure that they confirmed boy/girl
