My b/g twins have been rolling for the past few weeks and they still share a crib in our bedroom. DS rolls from back to front and then cannot go back to sleep. He will either cry or make other babbling noises but won't fall back to sleep on his stomach (they have both always slept on their backs only). I spend most nights rolling him back over and trying to get him to go to sleep...this has started to become really time consuming, not to mention the fact that I am exhausted from not getting any sleep every night <_< We also have the Angel Care monitor and it has now started going off numerous times because he keeps rolling off of the sensor. What did you ladies do when your LO's started rolling over in their cribs? I'm also thinking that it might be time to separate them into their own cribs since when ds rolls he usually wakes up his sister. Should I use a sleep positioner to try and keep him on his back?

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! :D

I would use a couple sleep positioners. My daughters are only 2 months old and are already rolling...can't believe it.. I have been using the sleep positioners are they are working well.

never has or used the sleep positioners myself but when my girls started rolling around and waking the other up I moved them into their own cribs - it should get better when he can roll back to his back again :)

    Hi!

I would think about putting them in their own cribs too.

When my babes started rolling they had a hard time falling back asleep for a only short time - they eventually learned to fall back asleep no matter which position they were in. I do however, remember the nights of being a spatula and having to go in there and flip them back over.

It may only take a few more nights and your little guy will probably learn to fall back asleep on his own, even on his tummy. And like PP said, it won't be long before he can flip right back over on his own.

I've never used a positioner or the Angel Monitor so I can't offer an opinion there.

    GL!! :p

We moved them to separate cribs when they could roll too. They hated being on their bellys so it wasn't a problem until this month. Jake rolls onto his tummy about twice a night/naptime. I've been letting him cry a little bit longer every time and one night he fell asleep on his belly. The rolling over has gotten better since. I tried sleep positioners when the boys were younger, but they wiggled out of them.

I started using sleep positioners for a little while when they started rolling, otherwise I would have spent the entire night flipping babies. It works for a little while until they get really good at rolling either direction. I know how frustrating it can get, I separated them at 7 months because they never really woke each other up when they rolled into one another.

I would suggest moving them to two cribs. I had to do this when mine started moving around too much even before rolling and were hitting each other. I would come in to find the feet of one on top of the others tummy. Once I separated them things calmed down. Then the rolling started. I think I flipped my daughter back over a few times on the nights I would stare at the monitor afraid she would roll over and not be able to breathe. After watching her roll during the day and move her head to the side and talking to the pediatrician I decided she would be okay. The ped said if she rolled to her tummy it was okay to let her sleep that way. Even before she knew how to get to her back she would just fall asleep on her tummy. Now it is her preferred way to sleep.
