Question about pimples on 1 week old boy

I am Lindy and I post for my dd Stephanie who had twin boys last week. She asked me to check with you all as Cameron has some little pimples in the groin area between his belly button and his little "weenie"...

It's common for newborns to have pimples (especially on their face). They're perfectly fine and they'll go away on their own, it's just some gunk working it's way out of his skin. But at his next pedi appt your DD should point them out to the doc, he'll tell her the best way to deal with them. My pedi suggests washing the area with regular baby soap, no scrubbing and no lotioning.

 

My sons had(have) this. The stuff on their face turned out to be milk eczema (but it didn't really look like pimples). The ones in their diaper area cleared up with diaper cream (I use Boudreaux's Butt Cream - WalMart!) and a little Neosporin.

 

I would dry the area well and maybe put on a little powder (that's just me ) and wipe the powder away and then re-diaper....

 

Vaseline did the trick for us!

She called the ped and he said it's probably no big deal but it could be the beginning of an infection and if it's not better by Sat morning he wants her to bring them both in... I'll let you know how it goes..
