I have been having a lot of pain lately in my lower stomach for the last week or so and have been chalking it up to ligament pain, but a few minutes ago I started having pain in my right side that wrapped around my back and all over my stomach it was only for a minute and on a scale from one to ten it was about a one and a half. I am here alone and would really like to wait for DH to get home from work before I go to L&D so I am trying to see if it comes back..Any ideas on what it could be??

Is your tummy tightening when this happens? For example if you push on your stomach does it feel like you would be pushing on your forehead, or is it still squishy? If its tight then I would say you are probably contracting or you could be right and it could be round ligament pain. How long until your DH gets home? If you are concerned I would definitely get it checked out. GL! Keep us posted!

I did not check to see if it was tightening or not I have BH so often it is rarely not tight so it is hard to tell..DH is on his way now maybe an hour...It has been about 15 minutes and still nothing..I have never had the ligament pain in my back before though?

It could very well be that you are just growing and stretching. Your body is carrying 2 growing babies and you are using and abusing muscles that you never had to before. My Dr always told me that if I had more than 6 contractions (or anything I thought resembled a contraction) I should go in. I think you are probably OK to wait an hour for your DH to get home. Definitely get it checked out if its not getting better though, its better to be safe than sorry! GL!!

I sometime have pain in my back on my left side, like where my kidney is at. What helps alleviate this pain is for me to get on all fours and let gravity take the babies off of my back. I have heard before that a baby can be on the tube that goes from your kidney to your bladder, cutting off the flow. I have to get on all fours about 3-4 times a day and it helps!

Don't know if that is what is happening with you, but I thought I would put that out there. Good luck and let us know how you're doing!!

Im glad that it has stopped. You should not feel stupid at all!! When I was pregnant with my girls I was clueless as to what was happening with my body. Just follow your mommy instinct, if you think you should go in...go in!! I hope you have a great night!

Glad you feel better. Please don't ever feel stupid about things like that though. Sometimes back pain can be PTL (I had it) and it's better to call your OB just to be safe.

My doctor would be the first to tell you, she would rather be bothered by 101 false alarms, then to have a Mom blow off something, and the babies suffer! False alarm or not, it's always best to be cautious. I think you did the right thing! I have a consulting nurse hotline I’m allowed to call. They will ask detailed questions and give advice, have you talk to a DR or tell you to come in. Maybe check with your DR and see if they offer one (I use tri-care so I’m unsure if this is just a military thing...)... instead of worrying the family.

Good luck, and Im GALD you feel better!!!
