I have 10 week old twin boys. We are having a hard time trying to find the "right" formula for our youngest. He has been on Enfamil Lipil then to Gentlease then to AR then to Prosobee. All of these he threw up at least 2 to 3 times a day. I was on a website one day and read about Goodstart being easier on them so I switched over to the soy formula. My ped. wants me to go back to Enfamil and told me to mix the GS with the Enfamil Prosobee, which I did, and he started throwing up again. The ped also wants me to get him back on regular milk, so I thought that maybe the GS milk would be ok for him since the GS soy seemed to work. Had 4 ozs tonight and it promptly came right back up. I am on WIC and they will not cover GS here. I was wondering what everyone else did when they had this situation and if anyone had any tips. My oldest twin will eat anything, but for ease I am trying to keep them on the same formula.

We are also on WIC and had a similiar thing. What I do is get the enfamil product and sell it on ebay - then take that money and buy goodstart.

It stinks but we have to do what we have to do for our babies. For us it isn't as big of a deal since our babies are now 100% breastfed - but for the first couple of months we had to do this.

Hope that helps. Plus, make sure you get the coupons from goodstart - that also helps some. You can at least get one free can of formula a month with the coupons!

One more question - have you tried Alimentum? I work for WIC as well - thus I know up here in Michigan you can get Alimentum with an RX. This is similiar to regular goodstart - just a little more borken down. IF they do well on regular good start they usually do well on Alimentum.

My oldest one seems to be doing fine on the GS regular so I am going to try to get him on Enfamil again. I never thought about selling it on ebay. That makes perfect sense! [IMG] I had called GS about it staining pink on the blankets and clothes that he threw-up on and they are sending me some coupons. Thanks for the tip about Ebay!

I was under the impression that WIC will pay for what your doctor prescribes as long as it is scripted (ie Alimentum or Isomil rather than milk based Similac/Enfamil)...

Does WIC vary from state to state? My youngest twin had to have Similac Lactose free while my oldest would drink anything. All I had to do was get a prescription from the doctor. [IMG]

I do the same thing and sell my nutramigen on Ebay from wic. it's a pain in the but but i've made alot of money off of it and use it to buy our GoodStart formula. As a side note about our boys and them goign through formula and throwing up - our boys couldnt handle any formula, they would throw up the whole bottle at a time. After many different formulas, we switched to good start - even after trying Allimentum and Nutramigen. The good start with DHA and ARA made them throw up like all the others with it in it but when we switched to the regular Good Start without the DHA and ARA, they did fine. Havent thrown up since and are happier babies when they're eating their bottles. We're nice and healthy 21 lb 8 month olds today! It's worth a try. Good Luck
