Since this is my first pregnancy, I was just wondering if driving a standard transmission vehicle while pregnant with twins could contribute to spotting issues? I have had some occasional unexplained spotting and was curious if driving my standard transmission car could contribute to this?

    Thanks for any input.

I drove a standard transmission during my entire pregnancy and with this pregnancy too...I've never experienced any spotting.

I drove a stick (mazda miata--go ahead and laugh at that mental image) until about two months ago, when I finally, finally, finally got my new "Mom Mobile" back from the body shop after my hubby smashed it up.

I didn't have any issues with spotting after the first trimester. And the one spotting issue was probably caused by my 6 week T/V ultrasound.

I have always driven a stick, and haven't had spotting. The image of cramming myself into a Miata is worse than my currently cramming myself into a Civic - I dont know how you did it!

I drive an automatic, BUT While I was pregnant I had a subchorionic hemmorage which did get worse the more active I was.
you should call your dr. -just to let them know you have had some spotting.

    congratulations!!!!!!!

I drive an automatic and don't have problems at all. I do less driving now because I'm taking it easy. If I have to go anywhere (besides an OB appt) I wait for dh to get home to drive. Just more comfortable for me now. I'm measuring 49 weeks pregnant and my legs are shorter..lol (5'4) so it's not the most comfortable thing to do.

Time to move up to a Honda Odyssey!!! My DH works for a Honda dealership and that is my next car... or van I guess. But I look forward to all the room! I have a Mercury Sable Wagon right now... and with 6 kids I will not have enough room. Especially with stroller and carseats! ;) My DH preferes the older models than the new one... just in case anyone is wondering. He said he likes the features and it is much easier to work on than the newer ones! I don't know personally... I just take his word for it!
