    Hi Ladies,
I am popping in from the expecting forum (25 weeks pregnant with boy/girl twins). My husband and I are trying to decide on a double stroller and are torn between getting one that snaps in the car seats or one that doesn't snap in the car seats. What is your experience? Is it more convenient to be able to snap in their car seats rather than transfer them to the stroller (which I know can wake them). Also is tandem or side by side better? Which particular strollers would you recommend? I am on "house arrest" due to a short cervix so I have plenty of time to do research. Thank you all for your input!!

we got the graco travel system with the double stroller. when they're itty bitty it's so much easier to just pop the infant carriers on top. i say "easier" but i didn't really find the system easy at all. the stroller is very heavy and bulky and we had to take the shades and front tray off every time we needed to fit it into the trunk of our sedan. if i had to do it all over i would have gotten the snap and go instead.

by the time they were old enough to sit up comfortably i found it more convenient to go to a SBS style. it's still not small but we can at least get it into the trunk along with a few bags of groceries. they're also happier being able to both enjoy the view, instead of one having an obstructed view in the rear seat. for our SBS we went with a combi twin savvy stroller. i love love love it and would recommend it to anyone!

I HIGHLY recommend the one that snaps in! If you are on a tight budget, go for the Graco Tandem that is a reg. stroller too. That way you don't have to buy a new stroller when they are 6-8 months old. I'm just now getting used to a sbs but I really love my tandem. Honestly, if you make it out of the first 2 years with less than 3 strollers you're doing GREAT!

Ahh..the stroller question. Hands down, the double snap n go. I MISS that stroller!! It was super easy and convenient. and you don't have to wake up babies to put them in the car b/c they are already in their carseats. I personally am not a big fan of the side by side strollers. I have one, but hate to use it. I have the Peg Perego duette now. It is a matter of preference though. I know a lot of moms here love their sbs. You'll figure out what you like. Although I have never met a twin mom who did not love her double snap n go. Good luck on your decision!

Here are my two cents worth. I loved having a stroller I could snap the car seats into. It was very convenient. I chose to buy an older Peg Perego Duette on craigslist(not the new style). My reasoning went like this. It is basically an upgraded snap n go BUT it can be used as a regular tandem stroller after you are done with the car seats. The seats for the regular stroller recline all the way and will be able to be used for a long time. It is also convenient to get into narrow aisles with. Instead of just getting a snap n go that you are done with after six months, why not get a complete stroller that does two jobs for about the same price? We also just bought a Combi Twin stroller. It's our side by side choice for travelling, quick trips to the store, and to take along when space is tight. Next on my list is a jogger. I know, three strollers is a lot but I am beginning to realize they are necessities, but I try to look for good used strollers on craigslist or kijiji and save a lot of money that way. I spent a lot of time researching it... I hope you enjoy it.

I would suggest getting two. You'll definitely want a snap-n-go go for the first few/several months... its super easy/convenient, and you don't have to wake the babies if they are sleeping. We keep the snap-n-go in the car and use it for errands, doctor appointments etc (at almost 7 mos, we still use it on occasion). You should be able to find one at a consignment sale or even craigs list for cheap... we got ours for $25. This type of stroller is just a frame, so not that important to buy new. What you want to "invest" in is a nice stroller that you'll want to use for a few years. We have a SBS (Citi Mini) and LOVE it!! The front and back ones are sooooo long (wait until you push around the double snap-n-go!). Plus, I've heard with twins it's good to have SBS so when they are a little older, they don't fight who gets the front!! With the Citi Mini, I've been able to get through every door I've needed to go thorugh. We started using the Citi Mini around 8 weeks... mostly around the neighborhood for walks/nearby shops. It has bigger, rubber wheels and it so much easier to push/maneuver than the snap-n-go... which is why I'd recommend getting both types of stollers... One for the car to use when running errands etc. so you don't have to disturb the twins, and a regular stroller for walks or day outings. Hope this helps!

I thought that having one that you pop their seats in wasn't important until I had to uncover my newborn babies to get them in the stroller in the snow! After that I bought the other carseat bar to be able to pop them in. I have the Kolcraft tandem, and I love it. It is really long, but it folds fairly compact, and although it is heavy, I can get it out and in our car no problem. To me, it has all the convenience of the snap and go at first, and then the regular seats are nice, with big sun shades.

We have 3 - snap n go - the best for when they are infants - pick one up cheap - craigslist, etc. We have a MacLaren SBS - also picked used - I really like - pretty lightweight and easy to fold/unfold. Then was able to get a free double jogging stroller - it is a monster and doesnt fold up, but I wanted something for walks and the park that I didnt mind if it got dirty. For day to day use when they are older I so far like the ease of use of the SBS over the length that was with the SNG, just easier to get in doorways and through stores.

I have the kolcraft Contours I love it. Its heavy but the ride is very smooth. If you order the blue online w/wamart its cheeper than bbys r us red and the blue model comes with 2 infant carrier holders. When they grow into the reg size seat they can face any direction you want them too. Its really long but I have not had any problems fitting it into even the smallest stores(I cruised it through a small once upon a child). I could not imagine having to switch them out of the carriers every time we went somewhere its worth dealing with the heavy weight.
