My DH rarely takes them, mainly because it weirds us out for them to be in the men's room with the urinals and all. He rarely has them out and about with me. He's more likely to take them to his mom's or a friend's house than to a place with public restrooms alone.

My husband would take Magoo to the men's room unless there was a Family bathroom available. Nolan questioned me on why he had to go in the Ladies room with me today..."Umm, because you are 4"

If there's not a family rest room, he takes them into the men's room. They usually have a stall or two at least and as far as I know he hasn't had much trouble. I know when we were at Disney World, he would take all 3 with him b/c he would be in and out of the bathroom with all 3 before I got up to the front of the line for the women's room.

We have boys, but nudity/bodies isn't a big deal in our house. The boys come with me or grandma in the women's locker room to change at the pool and will continue to do so for quite a while. If I had girls I would expect them to go with Daddy and expect most men to understand that the three- to five-year olds aren't in there for a peep show. ;) It's not like the girls would be near the urinals...how would they use them? If Daddy was alone with the girls and had to go to the bathroom himself, I'd expect him to go into a stall to take care of business (so the kids could be contained).

Many handicap stalls have kid seats with straps now for parents.

A lot of places (especially 'family-friendly' ones) have family bathrooms now, which are usually a large, one- or two-toilet room with a sink inside to contain everyone at once.

Nolan just recently used a urinal for the first time at Fenway Park. I got to hear all about it!!!

Alison, it's amazing how much these kids have grown since our first beach trip!!!

my DH is always out and about with the girls, so going into the mens washroom for them is no big deal.

Same with mine. My dh told my girls not to touch the urinals and that it was a different type of potty for only boys to use. They were fine with that answer and don't really question it anymore, they are used to going into the mens room.

That's one of the reason we still carry around the "little potty" in the van. He just takes them to the van!! When they get older, who knows what he'll do, but I would assume he'd just take them to the men's room as well.

He takes them to the men's room. He is way more germ-phobic than me, but I think he just makes sure they wash their hands really well. The only confusion we have is that when I take them to the same places, I always have to remind them that we're going in the other door.

He takes them to the men's room if there is no family/single user bathroom available. It's not like you actually *see* anything, the men are standing with their backs to everyone, they aren't walking around with their stuff hanging out. Don't know if it's any dirtier than some of the ladies' rooms we've been in.

Yes, my DH takes them to the men's room when he is out with them. He knows to put lots of toilet paper down on the seat for them.

Like PPs, DH is rarely with them long enough by himself to take them to the bathroom. If he is alone he will take in consideration the cleanliness of the bathroom. If it's going to be pretty bad (as often mens' restrooms are) he will take them back to the car and use the portable potty. I think DD has only been in the mens' restroom once so far.

Men's bathroom. As a matter of fact, we went to our state fair just 3 days into potty training and dh wanted to put the twins back in diapers. I objected. The lines for the mens bathroom was shorter so both kids always went in with him. When you have a kid who says she has to go, and in the throws of potty training, the shortest line is generally the best.
