Question about beta hcg levels?

I found out on Feb 25th that I am pregnant. I would love to have twins because I have so much experience with twins. I went for my first OB appt on Monday. He did an u/s and it showed a sac maybe in the uterus. My uterus is retroverted and to the left.. so it's all messed up right now lol. So he couldn't see too much but we both saw what looked like a sac at this point. That would be right on time for how far along I am. I was just over 5 weeks on Monday. My Ob sent me for a beta hcg because I had some pain on the left side and he wanted to make sure I didn't have an ectopic. But my pain is probably from the uterus being on my left side. My beta hcg came back at 9128. At 5 weeks! Based on my u/s my dates are not off. I go in for another blood draw tomorrow morning. And I have another u/s on Tuesday. I am going for weekly u/s until we get a heartbeat. I hope we see one next week.

So with my HPT the test line came up within 5 seconds and before the control line even came up. It was the day AF was due. I took another one about an hour and a half later and it came up the same way. I also took a digital that night and it was only 2 hours between peeing and it came up pregnant. Obviously I know that it came up so fast because my levels are so high.

So my question.. how many of you had beta hcg's at 5 weeks or so and how many of them were high? Does this mean I may have twins? I don't know what I feel because I want twins. TIA!

I've posted this here a few times.

a link to hcg levels. You aren't too far out of the normal range...and if you look at how high some people can get during week six, then obviously they must be higher than 7,000 during week 5. I was around 21,000 at five weeks with Julianna and that definitely made me nervous. but just one.

Only time and US's will really tell but here's what I know about HCG. My twin pg was a result of an FET. The beta on 21dpo or 5 weeks was 9941 up from 991 on 17dpo. My numbers with my natural pgs - non-ART, tended to be higher faster. For example - DD was 350 on 14dpo and 990 on 16dpo - higher than my twin pg.

Wishing you a H&H pregnancy whatever you're having!

I didn't have a 5 week beta. At about 17dpo, my beta was 1310, and it's supposed to double every 48 hours, is it? Anyways, my first one was so strong my RE didn't do anymore.

    Congratulations!

You can compare beta levels at this site:

    www.betabase.info

It's interesting to see how big the ranges can be even for just one.

    My levels were
    5 w 2 d 3221
    5 w 4 d 5983
    5 w 6 d 11861
Hope that helps. I hadn't ever had my levels checked with my DD. So I didn't know if they were/weren't high....so, it was a total shock to us:)

    Good luck and congrats.
