Question about amniotic fluid vs urine

So I went to the restroom about 30 minutes ago and it just felt like urination, but when I got my urine was extremely cloudy. I put a pad in and it is just a little wet, but nothing unusual for me. I just went again a few minutes ago and there was like cloudyness floating in the toilet. Has anyone else seen this? Do you think it might be my water leaking?

I started having contractions after the first urination, but thats not unusual for me. They aren't painful yet and I am having a hard time timing them because it is like it is constantly hard, so I am not sure when they stop and start. I think I'm going to give the contractions some time and see if they get regular and painful, or if I really start leaking.

 

I cant help u out because i dont have a clue. But id love to hear what ppl have to say bc I always have had the cloudiness after I pee for the past two days, and I have had some brownish spotting too. Answers please!!

 

i never had this personally but it definitely could be your water leaking. you're doing the right thing by keeping a pad on and observing the color and amount of fluid on the pad. i would call your doctor and see what he/she says. i'm a labor and delivery nurse and there are various things that would warrant you being in the hospital asap if your water is leaking, such as if you are gbs positive, what position the babies are in, if you've had a previous c/s, etc, and especially if the water is yellow or green tinged and not clear. good luck!

 

With my son's pregnancy my water broke in a similar sort of way... At first, I was just a little concerned that it might be amniotic fluid but thought surely not... but then after another 30 minutes or so it was very apparent that it was my water breaking. It wasn't gushing out or anything just a constant dribble... but was enough that it was absolutely necessary to wear a pad.

Well, there is barely any leaking and its just clear liquid. But when I go, its like I start and stop lots of times. The baby moves and I go more. So, I am going to go in and have them check again. I was just there Monday. Its weird though that I am not having bad contractions yet. I have been between 2 and 3 dilated the last week, so doc said if my water does break I would probably start going into labor pretty hard.

 

I would say call your doctor to be safe, but, when my water broke, it didn't stop leaking. I felt like I was peeing myself constantly until they wheeled me in for a c-section 12 hours later. So, that would be my distinguishing factor between amniotic fluid and urine. Urine stops. Fluid keeps replinishing and leaking.

 

Well I had the babies today. It was definately amniotic fluid. Nurse said the cloudiness was probably vernix in the amnotic fluid.
