I'm not even close to this point yet, but looking ahead! I know every situation is different, but when DID you/WILL you come off bedrest? I'm praying to make it to the point where I can even be taken off but started wondering when that would be! I'm guessing 35-36 weeks? Probably by that time I won't be capable of moving around too much anyways after so long on bedrest!!! Also, for the Procardia ladies, when did you come off of that and did you wean down the dose or did you just stop it cold turkey?

My doc told me last thursday I could get up and move around a bit more. He is taking the babies this Thursday. He told me not to go crazy though- but said after that because he was not on call this weekend :p I am having some major nesting urges and am giving into them- but I can't really do anything for more than 10 minutes at a time! My back gets to hurting too bad.
As for the procardia. He was going to have me stop it on Friday- but really would prefer that I don't go into labor on my own- I am already 5 cm dilated, and babies are laying transverse- so I need a c-section. He told me to take it until it is gone- which will be tomorrow evening. So I will miss two doses before my section- kind of curious to know if I just won't start contracting on wednesday!
I know the bedrest is no fun, but you are doing such a good job! Hang in there, the end will be here before you know. I thought it was going slow- of course I only had 4 weeks of it, but now that I look back- it really went rather quickly!

Mine were going to let me get up more starting at 34 weeks, but I had a cerclage in place to hold that cervix shut.

My doctor took me off the nifedipine at 34 weeks. I've been on bedrest since 26 weeks, and she won't let me off bedrest until 36 weeks. So, in the weeks between 34-36 she has said not to try to go into labor, but if something happens she won't try to stop it. I've noticed that every md seems to do it a little different.

My doctor took me off the Procardia (cold turkey) last week. He said my cervix looked great and he is even letting me move around. But, I think that will change again tomorrow....I have been having lots more contractions since being off the medicine and moving around. I think everyone is different, though.

My bedrest could have stopped at 34.5 weeks, but we went another week. (Mostly due to me and DH's concerns for me being at home with him at work, so I stayed in the hospital until he was off work...) As for the Procardia, I stopped cold turkey when I went in and had my section, but am now back on it for blood pressure issues. HTH!
