    Hi!

At my peri appointment on friday, the tech measured my cervix for the first time in a long time -- and it was just 2cm. She said that wasn't uncommon for this point (33 weeks) in a twin pregancy = but I wanted to see what others experiances were. While I have no desire for this to go on for 7 more weeks...I do want these LO's to cook for at least another 3 weeks.

Also, when did your doc start internals?? I know that its usually later in singleton pg.'s but i didn't know if it got started earlier with twins ?? I was thinking of asking my OB to do one at my apointment on monday.

    Thanks for you help!

My dr already started internal checks. At 32 weeks. and i believe he did one at 30 also.. It just depends on you dr. I know that mine will not use the U/S to check my Cervix this wednesday he will only do an internal..

I've been having internals done weekly since 27 wks due to PTL. I am 2cm along as well and am wondering how much longer until I go into labor....it will be interesting!

I only had 3 internals the entire pregnancy. The rest were t/v u/s checks. I was shortened to about 2 by your stage, and had a csection at 37 weeks. I think most docs do not like to do too many internals for fear that it might "stir something up", and start the progression.

I had internals every single visit, since my doc always told me some people start dialating around 20 weeks with twin pregnancy and she wanted to avoid this horror scenario. Anyway, to answer your questions ... I was 2 cm at 32 and 33 weeks, 3 cm at 34 and 35 weeks, 4 cm at 36 and 37 weeks, 4 1/2 cm at 38w2d when I was induced. Very smooth and easy delivery, 2 large twins ... I had a prior pregnancy (with a heavy child) and a d&c before so my doc said this can also cause you to dialate earlier.

I was 2.5 at 20 weeks...I carried to 34 weeks (that's even after being dilated for 7 weeks)

My cervix was 1cm or less from 22 weeks on (with a cerclage)...you can go a lot longer with a length of 2cm at 33 weeks.
