Ok, what is the deal....is this a boy thing? Development thing? What can I do?

My son walks around with his hands up ALL.THE.TIME. By hands up, I mean he will walk around with his forearms bent up at the elbows, and his hands either all floppy or stiff. When he runs, his hands go up right away, or straight back like he's taking off like a jet.
But mostly, he has his hands up when we walks around...which can be a hazard when we are out shopping because he can knock things off shelves or bump people as we walk along.

I notice his hands go up alot when he is upset about something - but also when he is relaxed.

I have to keep saying "put your hands down!" all day long....and my husband and I have talked about how it might work to construct some sort of belt with elastics to attach to his arms to keep them down...lol

Anyone else have issues with this or is my son just weird!?

Do you mean his arms go out, like while spinning kind of thing? I don't understand :pardon: what you mean, and the airplane view is the only one I get...and that is fun when they run like that. I bet if his arms are up all the time, it probably does get difficult to walk through the store, or get into the car, or any of that kind of thing.

If what Im thinking is correct, my son does this when hes upset. He will bend his arms at the elbows and have his hands hanging loose while he throws a fit. The best way I can describe it is 'feminine' or its a way that some gay guys stand..?? (No offense at all to gay people.) I cant stand when he does this, as he only does it when he is upset that he cant do something, and usually he is running away from the area where he became upset. He just looks ridiculous to me.

My DS doesnt do it ALL the time so its not really an 'issue', just bothersome.

YES...that is what he does...if anyone can't quite see it...put your arms at your side, but them bend your arms up at the elbows, keeping your arms still at the sides of your body and make you hands go limp....now walk around the house like this all day....that is what he looks like.
He does this when he's happy, sad, bored, tired...pretty much every mood...his hands go up.
The worst is when we are out, like at Walmart and one of us is holding his one hand and the other one is up....and knocking things off the shelves as we go along....... :gah:
