Put your babies on their back!

    A lady that posts on another forum I go to just lost her 2 month old nephew to SIDS... His mom put him to sleep on his tummy.

    So please put your babies on their back to sleep (even if they roll over on their own afterwards)... SIDS is very real...

    I can't begin to imagine the pain they are in (and you!). I'm so sorry. That is so terribly sad. I just will never understand with all the warnings out there why anyone would do otherwise. Even if it means they don't sleep as well, it's better than the very possible alternative. I'm so sad that another baby has been taken by SIDS. Just so so sad.

    What terrible news.... Oh how I feel for that family.... :( Like PP - I still to this day do not understand why people put their babies on their tummies to sleep - it is DRILLED into us here in Australia with regards to SIDS... I do not know of anyone who puts their bubs on their tums to sleep...and our SIDS death rate has dropped dramatically with most deaths now being unrelated to sleeping positions.. so PLEASE mums, dads, grannies, pops, aunts, uncles etc etc.... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE put your babes to sleep on their backs... and well wrapped if possible...

    How terrible! The worst part is that this poor mother will blame herself for the rest of her life! I cannot even imagine.
