my poor old kitty was into renal failure - we attempted to stem the tide with a different diet but she was still peeing around the house, and my once 20 lb kitty was about 6 lbs....so Tony took her this morning...she went quietly and calmly over the rainbow bridge....

bye bye Lexi - you were my companion for 13 years....you stood stalwart outside the twins bedroom door when they would cry as newborns thinking it was your kittens and you never so much as swatted at them when they were toddling around wondering what you were all about....

I have the greatest empathy for your sorrow. I miss my Milkshake every single day - he never left my side from age 8-26. We also lost him to renal failure. It sounds like you gave Lexi a wonderful life and gave her a merciful and compassionate peace this morning.

I am so sorry! Putting a pet to sleep is so hard even though you know that you are doing what is best.

 I am very sorry for your loss. I think putting a pet down is one of the hardest things to do. to you and your family.

  5. I'm so sorry! Putting our pets to sleep IS one of the hardest things to do but also one of the greatest gifts we can give them. They are no longer in pain and can be free to be themselves. You never stop missing them but it does get better little by little. I am still grieving my 2 dogs, 14yo and 9yo, that died 2 weeks apart at the end of April.

I am so so sorry. I just lost my boy at 11 yrs. He had liver failure, it is awful and it feels like losing a family member. I know you were a loving pet mommy and now Lexi isn't in any pain and is calm and happy and she is with you in spirit. I really believe our pets never truly leave us.
