Has anyone else got this during their pg? I haven't been told it's puppp, but by the research I've done I'm pretty sure it's what I have. My whole belly is broken out in these little pimple looking bumps. Also I have some on the tops of my hands and feet. OMG do they itch (just as bad as Poison Ivy). Aloe vera and Cortizone are helping some. Will they go away soon or not until after delivery? Does anyone else have any other remedies that can soothe my belly?
I got 3 showers yesterday just b/c the warm water beating on it felt sooo good.

    TIA,
    Michelle

I have the same problem!!! It is uncontrollable itching worse than chicken pox. Even though the shower felt good, it probably isn't helping. The dr. told me to limit the "hot" showers. She said that I could use benedryl cream or take benedryl (but I didn't want to take anything). I used ice packs all over my stomach. I also found that baby oil rubbed all over really helped. Yes it is messy, but when you are suffering like that it doesn't really matter.

I completely feel your pain. [IMG]

At least it goes away shortly after you deliver. I am delivering tomorrow----I will let you know how long after it goes away. [IMG]

Ugh, it's awful, isn't it? I hope it goes away soon for you!! Gl tomorrow.

I didn't think the showers were the best thing but at the time I just wanted some relief. I read somewhere that the first wk is the worst?? Is that true?

It did seem that my first week was the worst or maybe I just got used to it. I felt like a little kid---I couldn't control my itching, which made it worse. I almost put oven mits on my hands [IMG]

    Just keep applying that cream.

    BTW, great little boys name!!!

My good friend who just had twins last month had exactly what you're describing. It drove her CRAZY! The second she delivered, it all went away. Hope you survive it all!

I actually got these during my first pregnancy....I got alot on my stomach and just a few here and there on my hands, mainly in my palms. I used a mixture of baking soda and water on my belly, which helped relieve the itch. I have had these ever since, but they seem to come and go, and they are usually just on the palms of my hands( maybe one super itchy one at once, usually not more). I noticed that if I eat alot of salty foods I am more apt to get them.

I haven't gotten them on my belly yet, but I am sure I will, so I am prepared to use the baking soda and water...just make it putty like and smooth all over your tummy. You might not want to do it if you have to go out.

Hope this helps you....I feel your itch!

Search the forum...Kendraplus2 who recently delivered said the common remedies didn't work for her but she ended up being cured in 3 days and I think it was from taking dandelion root supplements from the health food store. Maybe search "dandelion" to see what she did."

I had PUPPPs with my first pregnancy. I was lucky that I got it in week 38 or 39. My cousin who is a pharmacist had throughout one of her pregnancies. She recommended a steroid free lotion called SARNA - it is in a tall white pump with light blue letters. Also using the Aveeno products like the oatmeal bath could help. It is not recommended to use products with cortisone because it could be absorbed through the skin into the bloodstream. I would double check with your ob. I know my ob had never heard of SARNA but after looking at the lotion she didn't see anything wrong with using it.
I feel for all of you have it! It is uncomfortable - especially when you are trying to sleep, etc. Hang in there - unfortunately the only way to get rid of it is to deliver the babies! That is one of the reasons my ob induced me 4 days earlier than planned!

I had this. It doesn't go away until after the delivery, for me like a week after, but I had it all over my body by the time I delivered. It lingered longest on the joints for me. I found that cold showers really helped, and that a cool wash cloth draped over my belly helped a lot, but I had it at the hot time of year.
The good news is, if you've had it once they say you will never have it again! and I see you are at 36wks, shouldn't be long now!
