Amelia is pulling up on everything. We have ceramic tile in all the common areas of the house. She's also trying to cruise, which results in a lot of falling. Every time she falls I think 5 minutes are taken off my life! I'm so afraid she's going to hurt herself! So far she's been fine, she usually lands on her butt but it still looks painful to me. I know if it were me I'd be screaming in pain! I guess they are tougher or something?

Yes Aimee, they are much tougher then we think. :hug99: I had the same issues, still do, that when I see them fall my heart skips a beat but they are just fine! I know with my two I had to let them fall in order for them to learn how to fall the right way, and boy was that hard. I tried so hard not to gasp or make a big deal out of it, but I'm right there with you. Plus, don't forget they have their diaper on, so I'm sure that helps cushion the fall a bit.

It is so hard, I agree. My two have gotten a few bumps already, and I know that this is just the beginning :)

Annalise pulls up on everything too! It is scary. I'm sure they're doing okay though :hug99: .

Oh DS has already had his first black eye. I just ordered online these: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2302496

I'm not going to lie...I am a lot more worried about DD. DS cries whenever he can so it is hard to say when he actually hurt himself but now that DD is standing up and cruising (on the rare occasions she does fall, because she is scared). I worry more.
I probably need to stop this boys are tough, girls aren't mentality before they can tell the difference.

    But I feel ya.
I am now putting them in prison everyday (XL gate). Surprisingly enough, they fall less now. What does happen though- is they grab on inbetween the gate and start crying cause they can't get down. Haha.

    Oh. P.s.
I don't have one strip of carpet in my entire house. My house was not meant for children (neither was my mother's ridiculously expensive furniture) So in hopes of now ruining anything I have to lock them in the gate.

Way to go Amelia! I can totally see why watching them fall would take years off of your life. Just from rolling over, I'll see mine hit their heads, they'll look at me like should that hurt? I try to make a happy face and then they move on.

Maybe you could put down a few rugs in the area she plays in...because ceramic tile is pretty hard. My niece tripped on a ceramic tile floor once when she was first learning to walk. She was visiting someone who had ceramic tile floors and when she fell she hit her forehead and was knocked unconscious for a short time. They took her to the ER and she was fine, but it really scared her parents. My sister-in-law had been thinking about getting ceramic tiles, but after that she decided not to.

I worried about that too first in the beginning, the good news is that she'll get really proficient really soon. With DD it was 2 weeks of wobbliness (is that a word?) and then she found her balance and rarely falls. DS just started pulling up last week so he's still pretty wobbly. Always something to worry about with babies isn't there!

The boys pull up and then cry because they can't sit down! If they try to sit down, they topple over, whacking their head on the floor and possibly knocking the other one down with him. It worries the snot out of me, too. You aren't alone....

Yup. Watching them fall will take your breath away. But their coordination gets better and better and that makes it alot easier on you. They are definitely tough because just when I think a fall was particularly "hard" they get up and just keep on goin'.
