Pulled muscle or ligament or something?

The other night here at the hospital, a nurse was dopplering the babies, and she asked me to tilt over because she was frustrated that she couldn't get Baby B as well as A. I went to tilt/turn over at her command and OUCH! I felt like I pulled a muscle or something right where my belly meets my pelvis on the left side. It hurt horribly, and it's continued to hurt. Matters didn't get better when she tried to get me to do the same thing last night. (I told her how bad it hurt, but she didn't seem to care.)

If any of you have experienced something like this, did you do anything that helped you feel better? I've complained of the pain, but I've only been offered a heating pad.

It's made me cry today! Pitiful me! I can't even sit up to eat without shaking from the pain.

I'm so sorry that you're in so much pain Emily. I often get horrible pains in my lower sides but I think it's just round ligament stretching since it goes away in a short while.

I hope that you can find some relief. I'm amazed at how strong you are for those babies of yours!

Thanks , Karlie. . . I am having a pretty bad day today. I just keep wanting to cry when I ought to be so overjoyed to have come this far and all. I just posted in the Expecting forum about the TTTS delivery dilemma. . . I'd love your opinion and what your docs have told you so far too.

Hey, I admire you for going thru what you have too. . .

OUCH!! I'm sorry! I've had temporary pain there from ligaments. Will they let you take tylenol? I hope it gets better. Sometimes nurses can lose sight of what their job really is. She should have been more compassionate.

I'm so sorry you are hurting!!! I've only ever had temporary pain there also. It's painful, but seems to go away pretty shortly after. Would they maybe give you a muscle relaxer? They keep trying to shove those down my throat and maybe it would do you some good if that area was able to relax. Also, could the PT person help you? These might not be good suggestions because it might not be the kind of pain you have. Sorry it's all I could think of!
I do think you need to stand up to the nurse though. I get so tired of them and their monitoring demands. They act like it is a matter of life or death for the babies. I think they actually make me contract sometimes.
Anyhow, hope you feel better soon...

I had a similar pain, when I tried to get off bed to go to the bathroom. It was just so horrible, I couldn't sit or stand or lie down and I started crying in pain, my 2 year old also started crying, which made me cry even more. My hubby wasnt home and so we just cried till he got home. We called the doc and he said, its because of all the extra pressure of carrying twins on the muscle and since I am on bedrest the muscle isnt strong as it should be. He simply said that nothing could be done, just a heating pad.
The pain did get better after a few days, but its still there.
I am so sorry that you have to deal with this right now. :hug99: :hug99:

Thanks y'all for the tips and commiseration. . . I'm definitely not letting anyone rush me in movement anymore.

The pain dissipated after about 24 hours, but I'm still moving slowly if and when I do move. I'm just stiff all over anyways from all this bedrest on my sides. (I type one-handed!)
