Pulled muscle in top of stomach?

For about the last month it feels like someone has taken a sharp knife and cut about a 2-3 inch gash in my stomach muscle on my left top side of my stomach.

My baby girl has been transverse off and on over there, and the muscle only hurts sporadically, but when it hurts, it HURTS!! I wonder if she's pulled the muscle from being so big? (at 31 wks 4 days she measured 4 lbs 11 oz already) I think it is, but I keep forgetting to mention it to my ob because #1 I have bad pregnancy brain! #2 I don't think of it unless it hurts, and coincidentally it hasn't hurt during my ob appts!

 

Isn't that like a good girl to act good in public...lol...no, she'll never act out in front of the doctor!
Write it down...I have scraps of paper, napkins written with pencil, pen and crayon that I take to the doc with me...
But I can't explain the upper pain, but I sure can tell you about the lower round ligament pain...

Ugh, I've had the same thing for the last few weeks. My OB said that she can't even feel the top of my uterus anymore and the pain is most likely caused by baby parts (feet, knees, etc...) pushing into my ribs and everything being squashed up in there. It's worse when I wake up in the morning prob b/c I sleep kinda curled up. We're just getting so cramped for space!

 

I can tell you EXACTLY what it is..... I have had it for WEEKS and WEEKS and WEEKS.... Now this is pretty gross, but my peri told me this and he explained it this way....

Your skin is getting stretched so very much that it is actually pulling away from muscle and bones... it starts with the lower left rib and moves up the ribs and across to the right. Here is the gross part - think of eating wings or ribs - it is like pulling the meat off. I nearly gagged when he told me that.

He told me this about 4 to 5 weeks ago - and he is 100% right - it has moved across the very upper part of my stomach - the only thing that has even remotely helped the pain is cold compresses. It hurts soooo much and the only real cure is delivery.

I am sorry you are feeling it - it is not going to get better for a while. HUGS!

Okay, THAT'S not what I wanted to hear!!!!!! :lol:

Honestly tho at least it makes sense, I just had no clue what was going on I just know it HURTS you are right!! GAAH!!

5 wks 1 day until my c/s.......I just keep counting down......

 

I'm not that far along and have those same pully feelings, every time I see the Dr. she gives me a good report and I forget all the irritations! But you are a bit further you may want to mention it.
