Hey everyone ! I know I have never asked anything, but I need all the help I can get right now. I don't know what to do. Both the girls are puking all over the place. It all started last night after darling father left for work right before midnight. I worked all yesterday, since I got my job back, so was out most of the day. The girls stayed with darling father all day. I don't know if he overloaded them with sugar with all that juice and cookies he had been talking about, or if they caught something over their cousins house the day before yesterday. A virus, maybe. I don't know but I need to know what I can give them for it to stop. If you have any suggestions, please offer them. I need help. Going to get gatorade in a minute...but do you think it could have been the sugar. Tell me what you think.

Oh, and yeah we've been drinking Pedialyte, too.

I am not sure that the sugar could be making them sick, I can't say for sure, but I know that Pedialyte is probably the best thing to give them and nothing else. I have a lot of experience in the puking department unfortunately, and that is what our Pedi has always told us. The less they have on their stomach to throw up, the better.

I hope they feel better soon. It's scary when it just keeps coming and keeps coming.

I would call your pediatrician just to know what to watch for, for signs of dehydration just to be safe.

Oh no...Here is a coincidence, my son Dorian was doing the same thing from 6 am this am until 11 am this am but is now up running around like a maniac. Having to force him to stay in bed.

Here are my suggestions: Children's pepto...one tablet should do it. Check Dr sears.com if you are not certain of dosing. I would also quit giving water, try either pedilite or pediapops if you can. I did not have any so we did VERY VERY cold ice water. Seems to sit better in the tummy for some reason, but at that age pedialite is best.

I would try and get them to eat saltines so that they have SOMETHING in their stomaches.

As far as keeping control of the puke in the house, I would try and wrangle them each to seperate beds and arm them each with a little trashcan that you can wash out.

Good luck girl, I hope that yours feel better as fast as mine did. If it happens on a timely interval (every half hr, every hr...)then you know it is a bug. Fever means a bug usually too. Although mine did not have a fever.

    Hang in there, Mandy

The best thing for the stomach flu is small amounts of fluid (even just 5 mL) every 15 min to keep them hydrated. Pedialte is best. Something my clinic told me that helps a lot is to give them the syrup from canned fruit. Find some canned fruit in your cubbord and poor out the fruit juice (they heavy syrup is best) and give them about 5mL (one syringe) full of this about 2-3 times. Don't give them anything in between. This helps coat their stomachs and makes them feel better so they can drink small amouts in an hour or so. Also watch for signs of dehydration (no went diapers, no tears, dry mouth, ect). Good luck!

When mine had it a while ago woz advized to give teaspoon of water every 5 minutes (if I gave a cup they tended to gulp it and then pucked the water back up). pedialyte popsicles. If it is a virus, not to give food for 24 hours and then start with maybe dry toast/crackers if they hold that down after an hour maybe something else - and no dairy for 48 hours - I think it woz something like this anyhow..

I second the giving small doses of liquids of water orPedialyte. When my DD would not stop throwing up the doctor also recommendd Emetrol. And yes, watch for signs of dehydration.

    I hope she feels better.

In my experience water just makes puking worse...since they are 2 they can take motion sickness medicine which should stop the puking (the doctors tell us to give it to my little sis who has reflux{when she starts puking she can't stop}). Gatorade has lots of sugar I do give it to mine if we are out of pedialyte but I mix it half and half with water.

Small doses of pedilyte as described in the pp.

DO NOT GIVE ANY TYPE OF MEDICINE unless directed by your doctor!!! Your children may not weigh enough to deal with any of the antivomiting medicinces and it could make matters worse. Our ped always makes us let the virus work itself out of the system. Medicine should only be given as a last resort for a stomach virus.

I hope they are better soon and it does sound like the stomach bug that has been going around and not all the junk food that they ate.

    Good luck!

We're starting to feel better. We've continued to drink the Pedialyte (never got around to going for the gatorade). They aren't eating much, but they aren't puking anymore, either. Haven't had an episode since earlier before I posted. We're doing better.

Thanks! for all the advise. I really appreciate it. I'm glad to know that I have such great support.
