PT success at 3 years + 6 weeks!

Sarah decided last week that she wanted to wear underwear. I said we could start on Saturday, since the school prefers them to switch on a weekend. So, on Saturday we put her in underwear first thing in the morning (even though she was protesting and wanted to back out -- she just got cold feet) and she's had NO accidents!

I was sure she was going to poop in her underwear several times, because I didn't think she really knew what it felt like to have to poop, but she has been great! She keeps saying, "I not poop in my underwear, I do it in the toilet" -- and if we're walking somewhere or in the car, she'll say "I'm holdin' it."

So, I continue to be strongly in favor of letting the child decide when he/she is ready. I know 3+ years is kind of late (for girls at least), but with both my kids, it has been an almost stress-free switch once they finally decided.

Way to go Sarah! :banana: I'm hoping Madison, my slow poke, is heading in that direction too. She's gone on the potty 3 times in 2 days, which is HUGE for her! She even wanted to wear underwear yesterday and wore a pull up to bed. She has been adamantly against anything but a diaper.
