propping babies

how do you guys prop your LOs up to sit on the floor? and how old were they when you started doing that?

 

I used to put the Boppy around them. But not until they could sit up for a few seconds independently at about 7 months. You can use a Bumbo too.

I started propping them up using the boppy billow when they were around 5 months old, that's when they had very good, strong head control and better upper body strength. By six months they were sitting up on their own. :good:

 

I've heard great things about that boppy pillow ^_^ I don't have one, but it sounds like it'll do the trick!

 

We used Boppy's and Bumbos. We used the bumbos to feed the girls at my mom's instead of highchairs for a long time. I think we started around 4 months old.

 

Sitting by legs/feet, sitting with them between my legs. No bumbo or boppy here. SItting down with them gently holding.

Yep me too. I started putting them on the floor in a sitting position at 3 months; before that we would lay them down and grab their arms and pull them to a sitting position. I actually put a picture of them "sitting up" on my TS album.

 

We started to practice sitting at 3 months as well either between our legs or with Bumbo seats.

 

We have 2 of the Summer Infant 3 stage seats. They're great! They have extra support for when your baby is a bit smaller, and you can remove it later. They also have a toy tray thats removable to keep them entertained. When your baby grows up a bit, you can use the seat as a booster. Best $45 per baby that we've spent in a long time.
