Projectile Poop!

Two nights ago, I was startled by projectile poo from my DS while I was changing an already-poopy diaper! So, at 3am, I was cleaning the pad, the changing table, the CD player (!), the bedskirt and the sheets on the bed in the nursery. Plus, while DH and I were laughing about it, DS was kicking his little feet into the mess, making it even worse

So, today...it happened again! Only this time it was downstairs in the kitchen!! I was changing DS on the changing table of the Pack n Play...he already had a poopy diaper, so I was bending his legs towards his tummy to clean with a wipe. More projectile poo shot across the PnP, on the floor and ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER!! I was in shock  I got the mess cleaned up, gave DS a bath while DD was lying contently in the bassinet portion of the PnP. Once I was finished, I tended to DD to find out that she had a poopy diaper blowout! All over the swaddle blanket...which I removed and unknowingly allowed her to SMEAR the poo seeping from her diaper all over the bottom of the PnP! Needless to say, I went through a lot of paper towels and cleaner this AM <_<

Now, my question: I feel like I have cleaned the PnP as best I can...but I can still smell the poo! What do you use to clean up these type of messes?

And if any of you recall my posts about my babies poo/gas issues...my babies only poo every 3-4 days! I would take 3X daily poohs any day if I didn't have to clean up these messes :p

    Thanks

 I'm so sorry, but I was laughing so hard while reading this. (Made me remember the first time I had one poop while changing a diaper. Thankfully it was projectile!)

I think I would get a hot soapy rag and clean it out that way. Honestly, I'm not sure what else would work.
Maybe sit outside in the sun. I know that helps with cloth diapers sometimes.

Hopefully someone else will have better advice!

Honestly... I'd probably be taking that pnp outside onto the deck with a bottle of dishsoap, and scrubbing it down, then spraying it off with the hose, and letting it airdry outside for an afternoon...

They had you especially busy last night :) . I had used (and still do) a Lysol spray cleaner for everything I clean. It took care of any baby poop smells too. I hope this will work for you too!

Maybe mix up a solution of water and oxyclean free--that takes the stink out of my cloth dipes.

    Good luck!

Ditto. Let it dry in the sun and the smell should come out. I don't know why they make PNPs with cloth pads that aren't washable.

ooh, another thought--please stop reading if you have a sensitive stomach--one time Roman had a blowout and before I realized it was on my hand, I ended up running my poopy hand through my hair. I kept smelling poop and then I realized it was IN MY HAIR!!!!!

    So, um, check your hair.

I would second or third this. When we first brought the babies home, Sophia had a projectile poop-she got it all over the Pnp, some of it on Luke and on the couch. Luckily she missed me, my SIL and I managed to get it all cleaned up~but I had no idea little girls could do that!

I wish I had been smart enough to do that! I keep jumping out of the way...I should use my body as a shield for the rest of the room :p

Thanks for all the good advice...I might have to wait for a sunny day here in Seattle. Hopefully we'll see the sun again soon!
