I went into preterm labor with my first set of twins and my dr has suggested I try progesterone shots starting about 16 weeks to try to prevent preterm labor again. I am pregnant with twins again. Did anyone do these? I haven't been able to find any significant reasons not to, but just wondering if anyone had personal experience.

I have not, but my next door neighbor used them for her 3rd and 4th pregnancy. Her first 2 babies were premature, so her OB recommended them for her 3rd and 4th pregnancy. They worked for her too her 3rd baby was born at 39 week and her 4th at 40 weeks. :good:

I haven't used them for pre-term labor (only to supplement low progesterone and hopefully reduce miscarriage) but it's commonly used by my doctor to treat PTL.

Hi, I was on BR from 24-36 weeks. I had almost no cervix left, but lasted much longer than they predicted. If I was pregnant, I would do it again. GL!

ETA-I had weekly shots from 25-34 weeks
