Professional Pregnant Pictures

I think it would be really cool to have professional pictures done of me while Im prego, and my DH seems to disagree with me. He thinks it is a waste of money <_< . I was just wondering how many people got them when they were pregnant? If so, when? I was thinking sometime around 7 months or so??? Also did you like them? If you could do it again, would you? I am going to be diplomatic about this, if I am outnumbered I will let the pregnancy pictures slide...

 

I didn't, but I REALLY wish I had! I had my heart set on it, but I was in the hospital so early that it just never really came together. Ideally, I think I would have liked to have them done around 27-28 weeksish. You can get nice photos done at such great prices these days that it definately doesn't have to be a wasteful use of your money at all. Good luck swaying dh!

 

I had them done numberous times throughout my pregnancy. I am glad that I did. I look at them now and it is amazing to see how much you change during those nine months and you forget how big you are.

If if is something you want done, do it. Otherwise you will regret it, and you can't go back and do it at another time.

 

Before I was pregnant I thought this would be something I'd want to do......but I feel so fat and gross that there is NO WAY I'd want it done. We take pictures at home with the digital camera every few weeks and that is enough for me....

If you have them done I'd suggest looking at some of the photographer's other pregnancy photos first! There is a friend-of-a-friend that had preg pictures done and they look ridiculous, I giggle every time I see her myspace! They are goofy pictures!

 

A friend of mine got them done, and they are absolutely gorgeous! We'll see how I feel in a few months about whether or not I really want them done in reality, but in theory, I love the idea

 

I say look into the less expensive studios and see what deals they ahve. I know JCpenny's can have some great deals. The photographers can be hit and miss on skills though.
I do photography myself so have been doing my own with my digital... that will have to do for me.

 

I had them done about 7 mths. And I love them..I kinda cheated and had her air brush out the stretch marks..I really enjoy going back and looking at them..I'm glad I did it, Plus I knew this was going to be my last pregnancy so I wanted to make sure I pics done. Here are my pics..

I had belly shots done at 30 weeks and I am so glad I did. They turned out lovely. We included our DD so it was really family pics. The photographer came to our house so it was really easy. We got over 100 pics on a CD so I can print them out, edit whatever I want to do. When I look at my self portraits in the bathroom mirror and my professionals, I'm so glad I did the professional.

 

I would never have professional shots of my belly taken--it seems like a pregnant version of 'glamour shots.'

 

Pregnancy photos were not a big thing when I was pregnant 11 years ago, but if I were to ever be pregnant again I absolutely have them done. Include your husband in the pictures also, you'll be so glad you did them and so will your kids when they get older. No matter how you feel about your pregnant body those pictures will be something that your kids will cherish later on in their lives.

 

My husband took my pro photos at 35w 5d, the day before I delivered.



He has done photos for my best friend, airbrushed her stretch marks for her even. She delivered 2 days later.

He says the ideal time to have photos done is between 7-8 1/2 months pregnant, you are usually at your biggest and the pictures come out great.

He will be taking my photos again, since this is my last pregnancy and I want to have the photos.

I did pictures of my best friend when she was 7 months pregnant, (I do photography on the side) and they were gorgeous, they looked professional....Another friend of mine will be doing mine shortly!!! They are definitely worth it!!!

My daughter had them done around 7 months. Hubby was in some of the pics with her. They are stunning. She had them printed in sepia tone.

 

I'm a photographer, so I'm definitely getting some done! I wish I could do my own, but I have a feeling it will just be too awkward to move back and forth between the camera and the pose. Maybe I can barter services with another photographer though.

I've never done pregnancy photos before, but now that I am pregnant, I'm interested in that aspect of portrait photography! One thing I won't do, for me or for a client, is nudes. I don't care how beautiful pregnancy and the human body are, I don't do nudes.

I think I'd order one black and white print to hang in the house, and keep the rest in a scrapbook or album somewhere.
