My girls are start preschool on Monday. They go 3 days a week for 4 hours a day.
Their teachers were funny about the supplies. They gave out a school supply list with some circled. Said the circle ones are the ones we should bring in, yet when asked about them they were like nope, or yep that is a great thing to bring.
Girls need an insulated lunch box with an ice pack, a change of clothes including socks in a labeled ziplock bag.

I'm trying to decide if I should bring in one or two packages of wipes. I might bring in one know and tell the teachers to let me know when they need more.

    So what about your kids?

    A backpack.

At our peek at preschool yesterday there was a 'wish list' on the wall for things they need. We grabbed toothpicks & quart sized ziploc bags. WE could get a folder for them, but it will be supplied if we don't. We only go 2 hours two times a week.

I only send one package of wipes and diapers, and they label them L&G for both my DD's.

Let's see. We had to supply a blanket, sheet, and pillow, extra clothes. That was it. They have backpacks but it holds their stuff to play with on the Metro.

We have to have backpack with a change of clothes in them, a water bottle and lunchbox. We also had a supply list that we had to contribute. Our kids are in the same class, so I had to double everything on the list. We go T/Th for 4 hrs.

Our list includes a change of clothes, photo of child and photo of family. The gave us some wish list items like napkins, wipes, kleenex, glue, crayons that I will bring in a basket on the first day for the teacher.

When my girls went to preschool they had to be 3yrs old and potty trained so no wipes or diapers were needed. We just had to have a back pack so they could bring papers home in them. We also had to supply one snack when it was our turn and a snack for on their birthday (so I had three snacks for the school year since they shared their birthday but I always made dbl that day). We had a list of what we could bring for regular snack and then for birthday it could be anything. That was it their preschool provided everything else. They did ask for buttons, ribbons and craft items if we had them but nothing like school supplies. When 3/4 the girls went T & TH for 2 1/2 hrs and when they were 4/5 they went 4 days a week for 2 1/2 hrs so no lunch was needed for them.

I had to bring (for each child, so x 2 for each item)
2 LARGE boxes of "wet ones" (so 4...really)
1 Box of Crayola WASHABLE markers
    1 box of crayons (16)
    4 glue sticks
1 set of washable watercolor paints (8 colors)
    2 pencils
    1 35 mm disposable camera w/flash

I ended up taking a HUGE pack of wipes from Target that had a few extras in it and brought some coffee for the teacher (long story how I knew she loved Dunkin' Donuts coffee, but I knew and am NOT above buttering the teacher up!)

For Tuesday, we bring a FAMILY picture.

We have to bring the change of clothes (to 'live' in their tote) in a ziploc with socks and underwear. A sheet for quiet time and their lovies or whatever they need for quiet time. They got new insulated lunch boxes with room for the ice pack thingy.

I am SO relieved....we can bring PEANUT BUTTER!!! (we have a mild peanut allergy in the class, but it's if ingested only - so we can bring it! PHEW!!!)

    We were asked to bring...
a change of clothes including socks
    wipes
    diapers (if using them)
    a box of Kleenex
    a roll of 35mm film*

On the sneak a peek day I asked the teacher why they used film and not digital and she said she didn't know how :umm:
She brought out this really nice digital camera that a family had given the class as a graduation gift the year before. I showed her how to use it and now she is hooked. I told her I would get her an extra memory stick instead.

That's what Becky444 told me too!! Yesterday I was going over all of it with her and she said that their class (her oldest was in this class last year) bought her a digital camera and she wasn't sure why she wouldn't use it.

I think she makes prints and stuff for the kids and puts them together for them and that's why. We would have to give $ for prints instead.

I told her to ask for gift cards to where she would like to have the pics developed. I also showed her the prices for Costco and how with digital it is much easier to get a great picture since you just delete the not so great ones. Digital really is so much cheaper (all things considered) even when having them printed out.

Our teacher makes photo books for the kids too.

The only things that we have to bring are a change of clothes in a ziploc bag, and a family photo.

Since B & H are in the same class, I think it is important for me to sign up for things twice. So we signed up for two snack times. And when they request supplies, I need to remember to sign up to bring two things.

Like the wipes, I am sure they are used for cleanup. In that case, I would sent two packages.
