    Hi everyone!

I am 11.3 weeks pregnant. I've been lurking on this forum for a couple of weeks now. I have suspected that I was maybe pregnant with twins-and I had an ultrasound on monday that confirmed my suspicions. (Ultrasound was done for free at a women's care center in town that is staffed by volunteers) We only saw Baby A, and Baby B's sac. But the machine was NOT a super great one and the gals doing the ultrasound were not skilled professional ultrasound techs (which they told me a few times). We could see what looked to me like only part of Baby B's sac-and it looked like the rest of it was hidden. I really feel that there is still a good chance that Baby B is alive and well but we just couldn't see him/her.

So I am going to make an appointment to get a "professional" ultrasound done (is that what you call it?). I am hoping that we can make it for next week. At this point, I am very hopeful and excited. I have always wanted twins. :yahoo: I am not unrealistic-I know that there is a pretty good chance that another ultrasound will reveal that Baby B has died-and I am keeping that in mind and doing my best to prepare for that. But I just feel like everythings going to be fine, you know? And no matter what I know that God is in control and will help me/us through whatever happens.

So, I was wondering, does anyone else have a story where they were unsure of Baby B's status and in the end he/she was just fine? Thanks ladies!

I'm 15 weeks, and when my OB did the ultrasound at 7 weeks to establish my due date, he warned me then that one might disappear, as it didn't appear to be as developed and he couldn't find a good start of a fetal pole. When we went back the next two weeks, the fetal pole stayed weak on that one, at least on the OB's machine. Then in my 12 week I had my first visit with the perinatologist (who we had last pregnancy and I LOVE) who used a doppler. His tech and he were both able to easily find a fetal pole and said that it was harder on the Ob's machine because the one was wrapped around the main one like a banana! He said not to worry, just to be prepared for different techs to have a hard time since one is trying to cuddle the other! :) We had already planned on it just being one, so it was delightful surprise!

Best of luck... now you officially have a story of someone who was told "eh" and then got a clean bill of health! :)

    CONGRATS & WELCOME TO TS!!

At 13 weeks I had my first appointment, I had also suspected twins. The Midwife agreed and we used a older in-office ultrasound machine to check things out. All you could see was the two sacs on the screen. everything was fuzzy and you really couldnt see much. She had me go and have a ultrasound with a tech asap. Less than a week later we saw both of our healthly little blessings.

No worries, wait and see whats going on! Congrats on your twins! Hugs!

Hello! Congrats on your pregnancy! I knew I came into the expecting forum for a reason tonight, and I think it was to welcome you and tell you my story.

When I went for my 6 week ultrasound, I was told that Baby B was not going to make it. That night I started bleeding red clots. I thought I was losing him, and I was very scared and worried. I went back to my doctor for another ultrasound, and he was okay. Over a year later, he's a handsome little boy named Joel and he could not be healthier.

I had my first U/S at 5 weeks and only saw one baby but my OB could tell that I had ovulated twice. I went back two weeks later and she found two babies. She wasn't very hopeful about baby B and almost didn't even check the heartbeat until I asked her to. She informed me that baby B didn't look like it was going to make it. Needless to say I changed OBs. We now have two healthy baby girls!

Thank you all for your welcome! :D

Ashley-Were you feeling like you may have twins or was that second ultrasound a total shock? How far along were you at the first ultrasound?

Hananielsgirl-I think I would want to change OBs too!

I have a varicose vein on the back or my left knee that I've had for three years. A week and a half ago it got really sore and I found out that I have blood clots in it {the doc I saw said that it is not bad as it is on the surface}. I woke up at around 3:00am and had a sore spot on my upper arm right on my vein. Fearing that it could be a blood clot, my husband and I went to the ER. It turns out it wasn't, but the doc was a bit concerned about my leg, and called in an ultrasound tech to ultrasound my leg to make sure that I don't have any deep vein clots (which are dangerous).

While she was looking at my leg I said, "as long as we're here, want to look at the babies?" She asked if this was our first, and I said "Maybe third and forth" and explained about our situation. She then proceeded to tell us that Baby B was probably gone, and that it happens a lot that a gal gets pregnant with twins and one dies and that if we didn't see the second baby she/he probably is gone. :cray:

But I am not giving up. I have no absolute evidence that Baby B is gone so I am staying hopeful. :good:
