Well, we had an early ultrasound today to determine my due date and well, there are two in there AGAIN! I am only 5 weeks 5 days so it is still early but everything looks good. I am so scared, overwhelmed, happy and nervous. I will have 5 kids age 4 and under. I know I will do fine, just don't know how I can do this and stay sane! Any tips, advice, ideas on seeking inhome part time affordable help? AHHHH ! Anyone have two sets and have tips? ANY ADVICE IS WELCOME ! Thanks

I understand all that you are feeling! I found out last week at 11 weeks that I am expecting twins again. I, too, will have 5 kids aged 4 and under. I am very excited to find someone else in the same situation - maybe we can help keep each other sane through all the chaos, stress, laughter, tears and love to come... I spent the first 3 days after I heard on the verge of tears. I just felt SO overwhelemed and scared. I am feeling calmer now and for the moment am focused on how I am going to survive the pregnancy. What was your first twin pregnancy like? I was in the hospital with contractions for almost a month from 25-29 weeks but ended up being induced at 37 weeks. I had a full term singleton pregnancy 2 years later. I've felt pretty sick in my first trimester (I'm just 12 weeks) and that has been hard. How are you feeling? You're still very early but I think the intense nausea and exhaustion kicked in for me just before I was 6 weeks. I still have both but they're not quite as debilitating. My niece told me just today that she's glad I don't still have that weird voice and face I had when I started growing the babies! I love the honesty that comes out of a 6 year old!! It kills me not to be able to run around and play with my kids the way they're used to but I know that pregnancy is only temporary.

Anyways, congratulations and I hope we get the chance to help each other through these crazy times!

Wow!!! Congrats! I have 4 children at home, but they are all older as you can see below (although 2 teens and a preteen are much like 4 year olds!). I do work at a daycare and the best advice I can give you is to organize now! Buy shelves, bins, and maybe even a small table and chairs that the children can sit at to play. Minimize their play area, so they don't become over stimulated to wreak havoc! Have them learn to pick up after themselves when they are done and if other things don't get done right away, don't stress! Let them be helpful when it comes time to take care of the twins, (my oldest DD was a lot of help with my DS, and they were 22 months apart). Stick to a balanced schedule of up and at 'em play time and down and quiet reading, puzzle, or coloring time! I know you will do great! Good luck!

I think that is so cool!! Seriously, how many people can say they have TWO sets of twins!!! So cool. I wonder if you could a college student or high school student part time? They would be cheap.

Congratulations, that is great. I have heard once you have more than two, you don't feel as overwhelmed by the next ones. I don't know how true that is, but I'm sure you can do it. You might want to consider hiring a mother helper to help with your older ones. They are usually teenagers who will come in and help. Good luck and welcome.

Congrats on the additional set. I can imagine how you must feel overwhelmed. I lost my first set in 2004 but surprise surprise here I am carrying two more little ones. I think for the rest of my life my family will say, can you imagine if you had 2 sets... well it looks like it is a good possibility if I end up with any additional pregnancies. Just remember everything will be okay... life is all about challenges... just take care of yourself and take it day by day. My mom would say it will be character building but worth it everyday.

    Congrats again and good luck

Congrats!!!! Maybe this will make you feel better. We had triplets in 2003 and are expecting twins August 24, 2008. I know this isn't going to be easy, but it will be interesting.

I'm so glad that there are several of us out there! At first I too was so shocked and surprised but I can tell you that I'm more and more excited about the idea of having two sets. I was so worried that our third child was going to feel left out that I'm glad this next set will arrive together.
Hopefully we'll all have easy pregnancies and healthy babies. For me the rest is easy to handle, but the pregnancy part gets a little scary. Let's keep in touch!!

that's why I think I'm not going to have anymore kids. Twins run on both sides of my family, fraternal and Identical. I have fraternal twins, I'm afraid next time I'll have identical. Paranoid? yes

Good luck, there's a reason things happen that way they do.
