Pregnant with 2nd Set of Twins!

I used to post here in the forums a couple of years ago when I was pregnant with my twin boys (now 2 1/2). We've just found out we're pregnant with another set of twins!!!

I wish now I hadn't had an ultrasound so early. I had one at 7 wk 3 days. That's when we saw the twins. They did a transvaginal ultrasound and couldn't detect any heartbeats. The doctor said it may be earlier in the pregnancy then we thought so I am going back next Thursday for another more comprehensive ultrasound. One sac was also much larger than the other. He said the smaller could be a vanishing twin but no way to know yet for sure. And with no heartbeats yet, he didn't have much to say except see you next week! So we have no idea what's going on...just have to leave it all in God's hands, which sure isn't easy! We are praying for at least one healthy baby...I can't even believe we might be having a second set of twins. I do definitely feel pregnant, so that's a good sign!

I was wondering how many people here have two sets of twins :itwins_boys: BTW, both sets were conceived naturally due to (I assume) my advanced age (37!).

Congrats! Hope everything looks great at your next ultrasound. FWIW, Baby B's sac was much smaller than Baby A's at my 6 week ultrasound. Both little guys are doing fine all these weeks later.

I'm a twin from my mother's second pair of fraternal twins. Your chances of having twins are increased if you've had twins before--I'm not sure the actual percentages.

I think Jackie who posts here is expecting her second pair as well. I believe Jackie is a twin expecting twins, like me!

Yes, I did see multiples at 7½ weeks gestation, one was measuring a week behind. Both had heartbeats. Turns out it was a vanishing twin. My appt. yesterday showed only one healthy baby unfortunately. :cray: Good luck and I pray that everything works out ok for your next ultrasound. :hug99:

Wow, that is wonderful news!! Congrats! We have a few other Mom's on TS that have 2 sets as well.
