    Hi twin moms!
Several questions from an expecting twin mommy:
    1) how much weight did you gain during pregnancy? If you remember it: how much weight in the beginning and at the end of pregnancy?
    2) at how many weeks did you deliver babies? With what weight?
    3) how does your belly look like now?

I am in my last trimester and it seems to me I a whale. It is so disappointing to me. All my relatives have a tendency to obesity and health complications because of it. Especially after pregnancies. I am not an exception. That is why I worked so hard to be in good physical shape before I got pregnant (a lot of exercising, healthy eating, no candies or ice-cream).
    .

Once I got pregnant I am not exercising that much (though I try to walk in my neighborhood every day) and eat healthy. But...I am worried about weight gain. To lose it will not be easy at all...

i think we all felt like whales at the end of the pregnancy! i thought for sure that i was going to have a hard time taking off the weight but it turns out the being a twin mom is a lot of work and the pounds just came off!

    1) how much weight did you gain during pregnancy? 50 pounds If you remember it: how much weight in the beginning and at the end of pregnancy? i didn't gain much until the end of the second trimester, i had terrible morning/afternoon/night sickness...
    2) at how many weeks did you deliver babies? 35 weeks With what weight? 6.2 and 5.3 pounds
    3) how does your belly look like now? it is pretty much back to how it looked before, my skin is still a little bit loose but i think that will get better with time.

it was a real struggle for me to accept the fact that i had to gain weight to have healthy babies because i have always had a hard time maintaining my weight, but i knew that i had to do it and i'm happy that i did because i had good sized babies 5 weeks early. try not to worry too much about it or beat yourself up too much, this is what your babies need and you will be suprised at how fast it comes off after your babies are here! Thanks! That is encouraging! And that is what I wanted to hear- that you CAN look fine after twin pregnancy!
I am doing everything and WILL do everything for my babies even if I have to fight with weight gain afterward. I know it is worth it and I am praying for them to be healthy! Thanks for your post!

I was overweight before I got pregnant...
    1. In the beginning, I lost 8 lbs because I was so queasy, I could barely eat. Towards the end, I had gained 40 lbs.
    2. I delivered at 38 weeks...baby A was 5lbs 9oz, baby b was 5lbs 14oz
    3. My belly looked mostly the same post-pregnancy. I do have the twinskin and flab from being overweight to begin with.
The pregnancy weight came off easy for me, it's the weight I had before pregnancy that is difficult for me to lose.

I gained around 60 pounds with this last pregnancy. I don't really remember how much at the beginning vs. the end. I delivered at 38 weeks, babies weighed 7 lbs 13 oz & 7 lbs 9 oz. The weight mostly came off in the first 3 or 4 months (except for that stubborn 5 pounds that I would still like to lose), but my skin has not returned to normal & neither have my stomach muscles. They are still separated somewhat & my doctor tells me only surgery would fix them at this point. Oh well, I've just had to accept that I'm not going to look exactly like I did before, but they were totally worth it!

    1. I gained 65 pounds. The last 10 pounds were in the last 9 days. I started at 180 pounds (I am almost 6 feet tall) and I ended at 245. I was in my regular pants at 5 weeks

    2. Vaginal delivery, 37w 3d, 6.9 and 6.6

    3. I do not have twin skin, but I have loose skin. My body changes weekly. I only know this because I wear a uniform for work and on Monday, my uniform looks very baggy on me. I hope that my belly returns, but we will see!

    I miss my old body,
    Jenn

Not to worry. I gained close to 50-lost it all within 6 weeks and am 10 pounds lighter than prepregnancy. Kids keep you busy and most of the weight comes off. Saggy belly skin and stretch marks is a whole nother story though.

I am in the normal weight range for my height and I gained 40 pounds while pregnant. I lost 7 during my first trimester and gained 30 in my last. My girls weighed 5 7 and 6 even at 36 weeks 4 days. I lost 30 by 8 days and am 5 lbs under my prepregnancy weight today. Gotta love the breastfeeding and lack of time to eat!I had a very flat stomach before and a 4 pack (not quiet 6 haha). My belly looks nothing the same now. It's already getting better but I have lots of stretch marks and a little loose skin. My stretch marks were never dark and are skin colored already, but I am definitely having an issue with my belly now. I am thinking tummy tuck once I am done having my next baby (or two!). I always watched my weight and was super upset about the changes in my body. I look the same in clothes I think except my boobs are bigger so I can't complain too much!

    1) How much weight did you gain during pregnancy? If you remember it; how much weight in the beginning and at the end of pregnancy? I gained 16 pounds total, however I don't remember when it really started to "pile on."

    2) At how many weeks did you deliver babies? With what weight? 29 weeks exactly and I weighed 131 pounds, they were 2lbs, 15oz and 2lbs, 10oz

    3) How does your belly look like now? I actually weighed a pound or two less than I did before I got pregnant, however I'm attributing that to not going full term. My belly is basically the same, a little "pudgy," but I don't believe that's from the pregnancy. Before I got pregnant I had gotten up to 125lbs (I'm only 4'11) and then I decided to cut out regular soda and switched to diet as well as somewhat watching what I ate. Then I lost 10lbs and got down to 115lbs, only to find out I was pregnant lol. I'm sure I could lose my pudgy belly if I gave up my regular soda again and just watched what I ate a little better. I have no stretch my marks on my stomach (some on my boobs, sorry if tmi).

    1) how much weight did you gain during pregnancy? 47lbs

If you remember it: how much weight in the beginning and at the end of pregnancy? Nothing until 20 weeks! It was all in the last 1/2.

    2) at how many weeks did you deliver babies? With what weight? 37 weeks. 5.8 and 6.15lbs. I lost all the weight within the first 2 weeks of delivery.

    3) how does your belly look like now? Like I've had 5 kids! Seriously, it's not horrible, but I won't be wearing a bikini again either.

    1. 55 lbs. - I gained more than 20 lbs in the first 20 weeks. I had been worried about gaining because I had gained 24 and 26 lbs. with my first two pregnancies. Much of the weight in the second half of my twin pregnancy was in my cankles. Don't miss those cankles one bit.

    2. 38 weeks, 5 days - 6 lbs. 11 oz and 5 lbs. even

    3. My belly looks like an elephant's. It's pretty flat - but I got hyper pigmentation, which is the dark line x10 basically - but it looks really weird. My OB said it will go away in 3-4 months. But it is freaky looking now. And my skin is wrinkle-y like an elephant. Lovely description, right? The worst part for me is the back fat - that's the primary place I've gained weight in my pregnancies (aside from my belly, of course).

Good luck! I'm 9 weeks out and feel like there's hope for a normal body again ... I did not have a problem getting rid of the flab the first two times, so I hope it will work for me this time, too. And I'm a firm believer in lots of exercise and starvation (not really starvation, but a diet of egg white omelets, applesauce and spinach salad - not exciting, but it works for me).

I was 155 in the beginning of my pregnancy.

I never was hungry being pregnant with my twins.

I delivered at 35 weeks and 4 days. To a boy 6lbs.1 ounce and 18 1/2 inches long and a girl 5lbs. 7 ounces and 19 inches long.

My belly is back to normal. I dropped 35 pounds in a week of giving birth. I have stretch marks but I could care less. My belly is flat and it has been little over a month. Nobody believes I had twins.

    I love my body!!!!!!!!!!11111

I gained 37 pounds, mostly at the beginning of the pregnancy when I was starving all the time, and eating seemed to stop the nausea for me, believe it or not! By the end of the pregnancy I was actually losing a pound or so a week.

I gave birth at 36 weeks exactly. Dalia was 5 pounds 13 ounces and Jonah was 6 pounds 2 ounces. Both babies had polyhydramnios though, which is too much amniotic fluid in the sacs. I was extremely stretched and distended.

I am 16 weeks postpartum and have lost all but 4 pounds (and I was at my ideal most-fit weight when I conceived). However, my stomach is still big. I never got red stretch marks but the skin is spongy and soft (the "cellulite butt" someone else referred to!), I am not sure that it is ever going to go back to being tight. I am just hopeful that it will flatten out as I add more cardio to my routine and lose some of the fat that seems to have redistributed. I can wear my old clothes everywhere but at my waistline!

    1. I weighed 140 (am 5'3) when I got pregnant. Lost 5lbs in the first trimester (got the flu). Gained 30 overall.
    2. Delivered at 33 weeks 1 day. 3lbs 3oz and 3lbs 11oz
    3. I now weigh 150 but lost all 30lbs in the first 6 weeks. I've gained the extra 10lbs during the past 6 months. I used to gain my weight first in my butt and thighs, but now it goes right to my stomach. I think b/c the skin is already stretched it's easier to pack on the lbs w/out knowing it. The hard part is making time for exercise the first year.

I gained 45lbs and delivered at 33 weeks. Pretty much slow steady weight gain for me. Baby b was growth restricted so I think maybe that is why I didn't get too big, too fast. I lost about 25lbs with in the first 2 weeks. Not sure what I am now (1 month post birth). I was very lucky and have no stretch marks. Some loose skin, but I wouldn't say anything extreme and I expect it to go somewhat back to normal. Not sure how separate my ab muscles are--will ask the Dr. about it at my 6 week check up I guess. Wearing mostly yoga style pants and a few of the smaller maternity pants I wore at the beginning due to my butt and thighs have gained and all my pre-pregnancy pants are tight. I have high hopes that with some work I can get my body back. It will never be quite the same, but something I will be happy with at least. Will have to wait to see what the breasts do though :nea:

You should look at the website theshapeofamother.com They have some beautiful photos of real moms and women and I always go there when I'm feeling down on my body. Its really both inspiring and uplifting. I'm 5'9 and went from 131 lbs to 178lbs on the day that I delivered. My boys were born at 34 weeks and are now 3 months old. I've lost all of the weight but I now have overhang when I try to wear my pre-preggo jeans which drives me crazy! I just buy up a size and have them altered to fit the rest of me, that way you don't get the mom jean droop on your butt. It's been hard to come to the realization that I'll probably never be a size 4 again without surgery, but i feel at peace with it and I'm no longer obsessed with getting there. I'm actually more confident now that I was before...

Ok, so I gained 49 lbs in total.
I gained 16 lbs in the first trimester and I think that's how much I gained in the second and third one as well.
I delivered my babies with scheduled induction at week 38.
Oliver was 6 lbs 15 oz and Edmund was 5 lbs 8 oz.
I have some serious work to do as far as my belly goes...lol But overall it's not too bad I think. I can't say I have a lot of skin all over, it's more like just flab.

    1) how much weight did you gain during pregnancy?
    50lbs! i'm 5'9" tall and i was 143lbs prior to getting pregnant.
i gained 4lbs by 8 weeks pregnant. 16 lbs by the time i entered the second trimester and then the pre-eclampsia took over and the weight just poured on. i gained the most weight (before the pre-eclampsia) in my butt and thighs, fortunately that's all gone now but by the second trimester i was feeling HUGE even though people kept telling me i only looked like i was carrying one baby (these were my first).

    2) at how many weeks did you deliver babies? With what weight?
35 weeks via c-section at 193lbs. within a day or so of delivering i was down to around 175lbs and could see my ankles and the veins in my hands again. my boys were 4lbs 15oz and 4lbs 14oz and 19 1/2" long each (that's over 38" of baby length in my belly!). so i had a lot of baby in there and felt like a beached whale!

    3) how does your belly look like now?
i haven't been working out or eating properly, the stress of being a new mom limited my ability and appetite for food so i lost weight quickly. but my "pooch" in my lower stomach is still there but not that bad. if i look back to what i looked like when i was 9 weeks pregnant that's what it looks like. i'm definitely NOT as small as i was pre-pregnancy. i am wider in the waist and hips. my weight, after 3 months, dropped about 45lbs so i'm very close to my pre-pregnancy weight (i'd say now within 5-10lbs) and i'm wearing all my pre-pregnancy clothes but i definetly don't look the same. a lot of women who have a c-section will get this fold of skin over their insition and i had that also but it went away after a few weeks and that i definetly am not bikini ready and now that my appetite is coming back so is some of the weight. it's hard to find the time/motivation and energy to work-out to loose the rest of the weight. i'm definetly not happy about the way i look but i never have been. i'd love to get down to 135lbs but i was 23 years old then and that was my wedding weight and into a size 6. i'm 27 now and a lot has changed and i'm wearing 8-10.

    good luck with your pregnancy!

I gained 35 pounds...lots of weight in the 1st and 2nd tri, lost weight in the 3rd tri.

    Delivered at 35 weeks...5.2 and 5.5 pounds

My belly still looks a little pregnant...maybe like it did at 10 weeks. I workout, too, but its still distended. I am 3 months PP.

I gained about 25 pounds overall.
I didnt gain any weight in the beginning (in fact I lost weight) nor did I gain any at the end. I think I peaked around 28 weeks or so and stayed the same weight for the duration.
I delivered at 37.5 weeks and my babies were 4lbs 10oz and 5lbs.
I have not weighed myself but I am waaay thinner than what I was pre pregnancy. My belly has almost totally gone away but it is stretched out still so once I get the clean bill of health next week I will start doing ab exercises.

I will say that before I got pregnant I always worried about my weight. I am very short and although I'm not fat, I am heavy with big boobs and a butt. It turns out that I'm one of those weird people who actually lost weight during my pregnancy (I was all baby and boobs -- the rest of me wasted away) and not because I was trying. I just struggled with having an appetite during my pregnancy. In retrospect I wish I would have forced myself to eat more so that my babies would not have been so small (especially my little girl). I could barely eat and I'm pretty sure the lack of nutrition impacted their birth weights. Thank goodness they were healthy but I would eat more if I had the chance to do it all again.

I gained 50 pounds. Most was after week 24. I BALLOONED up at the end....swelling feet as well!
I delivered at 38 weeks and 2 days. 7 pounds and 5 pounds exactly.
Oh my gosh. Well, I am back to weight watchers this week. My babies are three months old, and I still have 40 pounds to go! My skin is a bit wrinkly around the belly button, but not a ton of stretch marks, so I am hoping it will mellow once I lose the 40 pounds. I do see a sag, of the belly, like a kangaroo pouch! So, don't hold high hopes for that going away! But, I accept it. Now, if I can just lose the pounds, I won't even care about the sag! I just want my clothes to fit again! I need to get out of the BIG GIRL yoga pants that I have been wearing since LAST January! LOL
