    Hi girls!

I am pregnant for the 3rd time, and for some strange reason, I just have a feeling it's twins. I always know the sex of my babies while pregnant--I have 2 children & this time I just "knew" that this pregnancy was very different than my other 2.

I have my first OB appt. on Monday, but I just can't shake this "hunch."

Did any of you "know" before confiming it with an ultrasound?

I'd love know how others had this, too.

No, but then it was my first pregnancy so I had nothing to compare it to. I thought for 20 weeks that I was having A boy - only to find out I was having twin girls.

I did. I just knew it was twins despite the fact that our first u/s showed one gestational sac. Of course, we did IVF so odds were in our favor for multiples. The surprise was we're having identical twins, not fraternal like I expected. :)

I had no idea that it was twins. I didnt find out it was twins until 17.5 weeks.

Also i just *knew* that my first pregnancy was a girl and i was right.. This time i thought it was a boy, but i wasnt so sure about it. It ended up being b/g twins.. :) So i was 50% right ;)

Nope, I never had any pregnancy symptoms with either of my pregnancies, singleton or twins. :D

For a while people would joke, "Are you sure you don't have more than one in there?" Many people would make comments like, "You look a little bigger for how far along you are". And then sure enough, at our first ultrasound apt at 20 wks we found out they were twins. The tech said "You know you're having twins, right?"

We were kinda in denial though. I felt the babies kicking around [on both sides] during the 18th week and I just thought the baby was lying sideways [hands and feet kicking]. We had a hunch, but didn't want to realize it i guess.

My sickness was pretty bad for the first month or so after I found out I was pregnant. But that all just depends on the person. Every person and every pregnancy are different - or so I've heard.

I joked around about it because I was so sick and I think I said that I thought I was having twins once to my husband. I was not really serious though. I was totally taken aback when our OB told us. We have no family hx and I don't know anyone who has twins.

no, not at all. Actually we thought i was possibly miscarrying until i had my hormone levels drawn. 5 mins after my exam the doctor had me have an ultrasound and there they were at 7 weeks. Never even thought about twins..never.

I joked around with dh about having twins, since I was on clomid. The night before my first OB appointment I was saying, I wonder if there's two in there, lol! Of course, I was just having fun...I never thought I'd be a twin mama!

I didn't know I was having two. I also thought I miscarried because of spotting and cramping. But I did "pop" a little early and told my mom and fiance I thought that I was going to have a big baby. Lol
Its funny because before we knew my fiance and I didn't want twins, it scared us. Now we are sooo excited and so are both of our families!!

Hope you get the results you want!

I am currently pregnant with twins and the funny thing is that I joked about it with my husband and family but they just kind of laughed it off. . .We are not exactly "fertile" (did not use any fertility treatments though) but it took a year to get pregnant with our 3 year old and that's with vigorous charting, etc. We also do not have any twins in the family. My mom is a Nurse Practitioner (actually at my OB's offic) and told me that everyone thinks they are having twins with their second (or subsequent) pregnancies because you "pop" so much sooner. . .My morning sickness was so much WORSE this time around and I just felt that something was different. . .Well I got it in my head that I was just nuts, and low and behold at my 11 week ultrasound there were TWINS!! My family and especially my husband couldn't believe it!! We still are in a little bit of shock, almost 7 weeks later, but a LOT more excited and a little less overwhelmed!

[SIZE=10pt]I didn't know....but DH and I were always joking about "what if it is twins" ~ and we would see ironic things all over the place that would make us think about twins. NEVER actually thought we were pregnant with twins.

I still can't believe that I have two lil ones sometimes :D

    Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I knew, but only because I started having some severe symptoms before I was even scheduled to test for the pregnancy! It's a rare complication (OHSS) that can happen when you do fertility treatments and then get pregnant with multiples. So I actually started wondering if it was twins before I even took a pregnancy test! :D Before the ultrasound at 7 weeks my doctor even told me that she was guessing twins, too. And you know...we were still shocked to get the news, after all that!

I did. I just "knew." Mother's intuition? Who knows... I didn't have any of the normal pregnancy symptoms. I never had morning sickness or anything. I was so fortunate!

I knew we were having twins before the OB told us...and I knew they were boys before it was confirmed.

    Keep us posted!

No. Not at all. A complete shock.. And 3 days before our first US at 12 weeks, I told the hubby we needed twin girls so I could use both names that I liked..
Three days later, twins! And Boys..

I was however extremely tired and sick the first 4-12 weeks. I could not make it through a day with out a nap. I was exhausted. (Thats why I thought it was a girl.)

Both times I kind of knew and it wasn't from symptoms. Last time it wasn't until the third sonogram we found out yet after the first two sonograms I would come home and obsess on the computer looking for stories about hidden twins and to see what my chances were and looking at sonogram pics etc. I just would not accept that there was only one in there. I kind of figured by the third sonogram it was out of the question but sure enough two babies were in the sac by that third time. My friends tease me that I willed another baby to show up since I wanted twins so bad. This time just finding out I was pregnant was such a shock that I said "on top of that I know it will be twins again" My doctor was even joking about it until on the 1st sonogram we saw two yolk sacs very obvious. (one vanished by 12 weeks) again, no symptoms I just knew as bizarre as it sounds I'd even posted I knew it was twins again before my doctors appointment. Both sets being identical I had no high chances of having twins I'm just lucky I guess.

I have to say since my twins were my first and last pregnancy, I had absolutely NO idea that two hanging out in there. I did not have really bad motion sickness and was not especially big. So when I found out, I was shocked.

Your intuition might be on to something there!

No I didn't have a hunch that I was pregnant with twins, but was shocked when 2 appeared on the screen.

My MIL sure thought I was. Many of her vegetables in her garden were coming in twins and she swore up and down I was going to have twins. I knew something was definitely different about the pregnancy right off, but I never thought in a million years MIL would be right.

I didn't have any different pregnancy symptoms this time then when I had my DS two years ago. But a couple weeks before my 10 week ultrasound, I had a dream that dr showed us baby A and baby B on the ultrasound screen! I told my husband, coworker, and my mom and they thought I was crazy! Now I just wished I would dream about winning lottery tickets next!

I guess I "knew" deep down. I had two mc before the girls. I was not using any fertility drugs and remember telling dh when we found out I am pg that this is probably my two lost angels.. My first us showed only one baby at 13 weeks we only saw 2 babies.

And very strangely we had eggs with double yolks and double banannas a week before I found out about the pg.

It's funny because I had several people joke with me about having twins after I told them I was pregnant. No one did that with my other pregnancies. My uncle (one of the jokesters) even called me up after he heard to ask if I was mad at him :) My husband had wanted twins all along but with no family hx, fertility etc. I always just told him "too bad". At the first OB appt I started crying because I was so overwhelmed (I had a somewhat difficult, non-sleeping 4 month old at the time) and my husband practically shot through the roof with happiness grinning from ear to ear. I came around though after the shock wore off though and I am very excited as well. My husband has still asked several times at growth scans "are you sure there isn't another baby hiding in there!!"

Wow that is cool :D I keep telling my husband we need to start playing the lottery because for us having twins was a real long shot. I was still breastfeeding my 4 month old, we have no family hx, etc.

we did IVF so I thought it was a possibility - at 5 weeks 5 days ...the first ultrasound when we saw both babies it was a shock because even though we did IVF and transferred 2 embryos, I never in a million years thought I would be lucky enough for one to stick but 2!!!!! I was on cloud nine and scared to death all in one!!!

No... but this is my first pregnancy ever. It was unusual that I gained 10 pounds in the first 6-8 weeks, though![ And I started bleeding the day after I found out I was pregnant.

DH and I had always talked about having twins "someday." My mom had one twin pregnancy (only carried one full term, though). I always said I would be willing to do it when our oldest DD was 10 and big enough to help (she turned 4 today).

I definitely thought about the possibility of twins when I had worse morning sickness than ever, but then dismissed it when I didn't get big early on. DH had a dream that they were twins the week before we found out at 20 weeks.

Twins never even crossed my mind. We did IVF and only transferred 1 blast (5 day). My first levels were good enough to be positive for pregnancy but when it didn't double when they did the next one there was some concern. Then a few weeks later at my 2nd ultrasound my husband joked with the doctor about there being only one in there which she laughed at and said well she only put 1 in there so it wasn't her fault if it was more. Just a few minutes later she found the 2nd one! My husband said I looked like a deer caught in headlights. I never had any morning sickness or anything different from my first pregnancy that it could have been twins.

My hunch came only after I had a dream about us having twins, and after I told my hubby, he joked about asking the OB in the next appt and true enough, there was two sacs, and she even asked another OB from next door to ascertain it!! talk about maternal instinct!
