    Hi there!

I'm 16.5 weeks with twins, and have a new 'fun' symptom: a dry itchy face with flaky, red patches everywhere! Ick! Pregnancy eczema has struck again (had a minor version with my first pregnancy). I've read I'm not supposed to use hydrocortisone in pregnancy, and can't use my prescription meds either. So, I've just been moisturing as much as possible (and now have a few 'break out' spots to thank for that.

Grrrrrr. Anyone have any other advice or 'magic fixes' to help?

have you tried using cetaphil lotion? No help on the break outs, I have the same problem.

Sorry to hear about the eczema. My only advice is not to itch it.. it may feel good to itch at the time but it only makes it worse. I luckily only had a little on my leg, and after leaving it alone for a couple weeks it has gone away. Unfortunately though I have really bad acne.. which I was lucky to never. I keep getting big painful pimples to which is quite obnoxious to me to. Nothing seems to be helping me with that so I don't know. Normally skin gets better during pregnancy, but apparently not mine. Hang in there!

    Thanks ladies!

My peri today said it was ok to use a small amount of topical hydrocortisone on it. So weird b/c my preivous OB was against it. It's so hard when every doc has a different opinion! A friend recommended using eczema cream for babies since it's all natural...may give that a whirl!

I suffer from severe eczema all yr around, my whole life. Anything with oatmeal in it well help hydrate and with the itch. Aveeno is great for using as a body wash or a cream. Eucerine is a good moisteriser, has nothing in, nothing medical anyway. The spectro eczema care cream is great and has no cortisone in it. Hope this helps

Slipper, thanks so much! I loooooooove Aveeno products, and use their foaming sensitive skin facewash (I also love their baby products, btw). I'll have to check out the Spectro...sounds like something worse trying! Even though my doc says it's OK, I really don't want to use cortisone if I can help it!

You are very welcome. I try and stay away from Cortisone while pregnant, and it is not the best thing to be putting on your face either.
