I think my girls are coming down with the head cold that my 3yr and I both have. Is there anything I can give them to make them feel better??

When mine were 5 weeks they got a head cold. I used the Nasal Saline drops (Ocean I think is the brand) and the bulb syringe that they gave me from the hospital. I would suck out each nostril if they didnt sneeze it out first. I also used a humidifier at night and naps and also elevated the matress. Meds dont do anything for them. Colds just have to run their course.

I agree, the saline drops and humidifier are probably the best. Always check with your ped, they now say cold meds don't do any good for kids under 6.

I agree with Rachel too.. and its what we've done in the past. Unless they run a fever, there is nothing you can give them. If they do run a fever I would call the ped. Hope you all feel better soon, Leighann

We had a cold a month ago. Saline, booger sucker, humidifer is all you can do. I also inclined the mattresses to help them breathe a little better. No cold medicine though. Sorry, hope you kiddos feel better soon.

Saline/bulb syringe is about all you can do for them. Hope everyone feels better soon! :hug99:

Same as everyone else. One thing I did for mine was let them sleep in their car seats. They slept VERY well in that position whereas in their pnp or cribs, they were tossing all the time because they couldn't breathe very well.

Ugh, my older two have colds and I do as well... I just am praying Katie doesn't catch it, but I am sure it is inevitable... I already use a humidifier and will buy the saline drops just in case.

I've had good results with the Sudacare / Pediacare Vaporplugs (for Children), humidifier, bulb, saline drops ... that's about what you can do ... (unfortunately).
