My babies are pretty much developing by their gestational age. They are very far behind most four month olds(which is their real age). They just now started holding up thier heads. I was wondering if they will get their teeth later also. Or are teeth going to come in by the gestational age? I was wondering because the past couple of days she has been screaming her head off. She is usually the good twin. The one that is content anywhere she may be. The one that will let anyone hold her. The one that goes to sleep without one peep. The one that does not cry much but babbles instead when she is hungry or tired. It is wearing me out b/c DS Nathan is already very OVERLY needy and most of the time I am the only one that can soothe him. I was just wondering if it might be teeth coming in? She is just not herself at all and I can't figure out what is wrong.

    Thanks for any comments.

I thought I'd have some time before my preemies started getting teeth. But Joshua just got one at 7 months and 2wks and then a second 5 days later. Well within the norm for actual age. I guess it's really just going to be up to their own time schedule.

Both my girls got their first teeth right at 6 months old (actual)...

My girls were only 4 weeks early and got their teeth at 5 months exactly.

i think teeth are so variable. It definitely could be teething for you!

One of mine got teeth pretty early, even for her actual age. The other got teeth quite late (not so late based on her adjusted age).

it's so hard to predict. My boys were 6 weeks early but have pretty much "caught up" developmentally, size-wise, etc. They got their first 2 teeth at 6.5 months, which was earlier than some full term singletons, though I was sure they wouldn't get them until much later. I know that's not much help, but i just think it's hard to predict.

\My twins were over 3 months early. My ds got one bottom tooth really early at 4 1/2 months actual, then the second about 3 months later. Dd got two on bottom at 6 months and then 6 on the top at about a year. Their adjusted age now is almost 11 months, dd has 8 teeth, and ds has two.
So, i guess it just depends on the baby. I have a friend whose son turned 1 Nov. 30 and just got his first tooth a month ago!
