I'm not sure about buying them in bulk. But I got pampers preemies at Walmart when I needed them for my two.

I would not buy preemie diaper's. My girls were preemies, and by the time they came home they were in NB diapers. I do believe that Diapers.com sells them though if you really want to buy them.

i was kind of wandering about that. i went to register lasnight and i didnt know what exactly i should do. go with newborn or preemie? ya know? i know that my other two girls were born on time and they still fit into preemie's better than newborns. And when i looked at the prices on the packs at walmart they are $10.49 for 30. im sure that wont last but a day and a half maybe! so you think i should just stick with newborns right now?

It really depends when they are born. Mine came home from the NICU at 4 and 5 lbs and we did use preemie diapers. But you can always get those last minute if you need them.

I got mine at walmart. Although I would not buy alot of them. My babies were in the NICU for 11 days and the diapers were provided while in the hosp. When we came home with the twins we still used preemie diapers for a week or so, but went to newborns very quickly. You can also buy them at Sams Club

My girls were just under 5 pounds when they came home from the NICU. They were using NB. I don't even think they used premie in the hospital. If you do buy some, don't get a ton. They grow very fast at that point.

I would not buy any. My DD weighed only 4lbs 13 oz. and was never in preemie diapers. She only wore the newborn size for a very short time. They grow so fast.

I would not buy them either. They're expensive and have low absorbency, and the newborn diapers will fit fine. My girls came home at 3.11 lbs and 5.1 lbs and I asked the nurse before discharge where I could get some preemie diapers. She then let me know that the girls had been wearing newborn size the entire time they were in the hospital and that was all they needed when they came home.

our hospital didn't even stock NB size - mine were in size 1 diapers at 3.8 lb and 4.8 lb and they came up to their armpits!! DD was in preemie's for over a month and NB's for about as long...I'd buy a few packs at a time...

We used preemie diapers for a little while after coming home from the NICU but I would not recommend buying in bulk. We had several packages given to us by family and friends and never used all of them so we returned them to wal-mart for newborn diapers. They'll grow out faster than you realize and then you're stuck with a bunch of tiny diapers.

I've never seen them in bulk, but I would not buy too many. My DD's were born at 31 weeks, and by 34 weeks they were in newborn size diapers (still in the NICU). So we never needed any preemie diapers for home, and we moved from newborn to size 1's not too long after they came home.

Buy a pack or 2, not a bulk of them. My girls were 5lbs 10oz and 5lbs 3oz at birth and came home weighing: 5lbs 7oz and 4lbs 11oz. The hospital only had size 1 diapers which were big on my girls. To come home (they came home with me after birth) I had some newborn ones with me. I had a pack of preemie at home (my son was 5lbs 6oz at birth and wore preemie in the hospital, when he came home at 10 days old, he was in newborn) I took back and got newborn for them. Target has preemie diapers as well.

If you buy bulk get newborn ones, but don't over buy them.

I agree with pp...do not buy too many at once...no more than a pack or 2 at a time. And also as pp said, you can just get them at WM and Target.

My boys were born at 33 weeks and were 3.14 and 3.11. They were in the NICU for 5w1d and were in Preemie diapers the whole time. They were still in Preemie diapers when they came home (at abt 5 1/2 lbs each) ...but only for a week or 2.

Just a quick thought on why you don't want to buy too many:
I was given a baby shower abt 10 days before the boys came home. It was planned for Feb 23, but since I delivered on the 19th, it was kinda cancelled :D ...so they rescheduled it and surprised me shortly before the boys came home. Anywho, one of my friends gave me a HUGE laundry basket full of Preemie diapers...there were probably 200 diapers in there!! :icon_eek: Well, like I said before, I used them at home for a couple weeks...but then the boys were in Newborn size. So I had a ton of them left. Since they were not in the package, I could not donate them to the hospital...so I have been storing those diapers for 6 years. I finally put them in the "Preemie Closet" of our MOTC for us to distribute to our club members if they need them. I kinda felt bad abt not being able to use all the diapers she gave me, but I know they are going to good use now.

I agree!! We just used newborn diapers and folded htem over after using my first pack of premie diapers. They worked just fine. In fact even in the NICU they were using newborn size diapers on my little peanut!
