Ok, our girls are 2 years and 9 months. They have been going on the potty in the mornings really good for a long time. It's the rest of the day that is not that great. They don't want to stop and do what they are doing. When I ask throughout the day they say they don't want to go. We've been very relaxed about it since most of my friends and relatives say they need to make the decision or otherwise they are just training you. We have got lots of new underwear for them and they don't seem to care.

Should I just put underwear on and be done with the diapers and hope they will get it soon. Where can I find info on the 3-day method I saw mentioned.

It's getting a little frustrating. I'm hoping by the time they switch to the 3-year class at daycare they will be done with diapers/pull-ups.

I believe the 3 day method is a book, so maybe your local library?

I would probably try for a day to see how they do in underwear. If they take to it then you're set and if they don't like it then maybe wait until they are closer to 3. It's great that they are going in the morning and maybe add in another time that they go, like right before nap or before bed?
    Good luck!

I didn't do the 3-day method (I think it's something you order too) but what might work is using a timer. I started off with setting it every 15-20 minutes and when it went off they had to go sit on their potties for 5 minutes. (Again, I set the timer for that length of time.) I set their potties up in front of the tv and would play a show they like to keep them occupied for those 5 minutes.
We also had a "potty bag" with small prizes (matchbox cars, chapstick, bubbles, small things) and for the first week every time they used the potty, they got to pick out a prize. They loved it! Pooping was more challenging, so for that they got a slightly bigger prize. (I think I spent about $10 on each poop prize.)

It took a little patience and time, but it did work. We also only used pull-ups when leaving the house and at nap/night times. Otherwise they were in underwear and if they had an accident then we cleaned it up. They really did great.

I'm glad to say that we have been out of pull-ups (except at night time only and I'm just using them now because we have them for DD- I won't buy her anymore) since September.

I would try putting them in underwear or just go bottomless and see how they do. If they are wearing pull ups then they may know that they can just pee in them so they don't want to bother going but if they actually feel the wetness then maybe they will more than likely try going a little more often. My son was kind of like your girls he didn't want to go potty when I asked him until I took off the diaper and had him go bottomless. He trained very quickly while bottomless. It took him a little while to go from bottomless to wearing underwear with out accidents but it wasn't to bad maybe two days of accidents since I think he was waiting longer before going and since it took him longer to pull his pants down he would have the accident.

My sister has a daycare and she said to get rid of the diapers and try underwear. I have done that awhile back and they had accidents and then asked for a diaper. Also one time Madison climbed on my lap and peed on me because she didn't want to pee on my mom's couch. Maybe I should have just stayed the course with it but they begged for a diaper at that time so I just thought they weren't ready. That was awhile ago. Maybe I'll give it a try now. If they ask for a diaper, should I just stick to my guns and say no?
