Well we were doing ok with the potty training, and then Brooke dug her heals in  :( . All of a sudden she refuses to use the potty. She want's to wear panties, but she just pees/poops in them and then asks to be changed. Everytime I ask her to sit on the potty she either flat out refuses to even sit on it, or she sits on it and doesn't go. I swear she's holding it in while she sits on the potty   . I don't know what the heck happened. I mean she wasn't anywhere near trained yet, but she at least would use it every once in a while, and usually sat on it without compaints. The only thing I've done differently lately is the introduction of the padded training pants. And she was excited about that.

I don't know if I should just stop completely and use diapers again, or If I should persist. I don't want to force her and make her reject it even more, but I don't want to give the idea that she can wear a pull-0up until she's 10 either.

    Any ideas???

On the bright side, Reagan only had one accident all day at daycare!!!!

DO NOT go back to diapers....what worked for us is to set a timer, and each time the timer went off, they had to go and try to potty (if they actually went, I set the timer for a longer time, if they did not, I would set it for a shorter time.....thankfully, they cannot tell time yet..lol) The timer takes the argument out of it.....they cannot argue with the timer...... :)

I disagree with the PP, they can fight a timer--so bad that Marc almost cracked his head open on the toilet. At this point, I would go back to diapers. She is old enough to understand that if she won't use the potty, she can wear a diaper. I would just go back to the pull-up or diaper, and let her come to you about using the toilet. She is old enough, that she should direct it on her own quickly enough.

I am with Sharon on this one. We had a boy in the daycare I worked at that refused to potty train. He would come in and want his pull up but refused to sit on the potty at all. I finally told him he wasn't going to get a pull up until he sat on the potty, and if he refused he would stay in a diaper. He didn't like me much as the other ladies weren't doing this with him until I started it. He finally started sitting on the potty regularly. I don't know when he finally trained as I had to leave the DC before it happened. I am using the same idea with my boys as William is refusing to sit on the potty still.

We had this problem with Brianne. As soon as Hayley was in panties Brianne refused to use the potty. We put her back in diapers and she trained about 2 months later. She basically did it on her own then.

Ditto what has already been said. Readiness doesn't just mean they CAN do it...it also means they WILL do it. If they're not willing, this is not something you can force. Jamie was my little pleaser and was trained shortly after 2 years of age. Nicole outright refused but then decided on her own that she was finally willing about 2 months later--then it was easy. Two battlefields to avoid are the dinner table and the potty. She WON'T be in pull-ups until she's 10. You'll save a lot of frustration and messy clean ups if you put her back in pull-ups until she's ready AND WILLING! :)
